NotUse I am a filipino too, I am interested to translate it. So far, I'm stuck writing a romantic scene. Maybe I can help you out, if you still need my help

    NotUse alright, I'll try my best. Btw, i fell in love with your poem. it's so beautiful.

    I am just studying the first stanza, these lines, " Whose womb was of the east" are you talking about east countries, specifically the Philippines? or it has other meaning?

      NotUse okay~ the more I read it the more I see how deep it is haha, I'm done with the first stanza, it was a bit hard to find the right words, I'm just gonna eat first then. I'll post it here once I am done. Though, It's only an amateur translation of me that you can revise.

        The Beast and the Maiden
        By: (I'll use my pseudonym here) DZSC
        The maiden of many islands,
        Whose womb was of the east
        Chained like an animal,
        Whose fault was of the beast

        Ang dalaga ng maraming isla,
        Na ang sinapupunan ay ang silangan
        Nakagapos nang parang hayup
        Na siyang sala ng halimaw

        Though she bore the pain given by the monster;
        He had always been loved by the maiden, the dreamer
        Although she was treated as the blackbird;
        She longed for her cry to be heard

        Bagaman kaniyang dinala ang sakit na ibinigay ng halimaw;
        Siya parin ay magpakailanmang iniibig ng dalaga, isang mapangarapin
        Bagama’t siya ay ituring itim na ibon;
        Hinahangad niya na marinig ang kaniyang sigaw

        And so every night, she mourned of a time,
        A time to roam, at the beach by his side
        Footsteps, she wished, that would be left behind,
        Fiddling with his, during that time

        At sa tuwing gabi, siya ay nagdadalamhati sa pahanon,
        Sa panahon na siya ay malaya, sa dalampasigan, sa tabi niya
        Mga yapak, na kaniyang ninanais, na maiiwan,
        Nakikipaglaro sa kaniyang bakas, sa panahon na iyon
        Would it ever come? No one knew,

        For if all she did was to dream,
        And all he did was to sting;
        All I could do was to give them my woe
        Ito ba ay darating? Walang nakakaalam,
        Kung ang ginawa niya lamang ay mangarap,
        At siya naman ay maghatid ng hapdi;
        Ang maari ko lamang gawin ay magdalamhati

        I too, dreamed of an oath,
        The beast and the maiden, by the meadows,
        Singing together, songs so mellow
        That was a dream, if all she did was to hope.

        Ako rin, nangangarap ng panumpa,
        Ang halimaw at ang dalaga, sa parang,
        Umaawit ng magkasama, mga kantang malambing
        Iyon ay isang pangarap, kung ang kaniyang ginawa lamang ay umasa.

        P.S feel free to revise it for a better outcome. Anyone can try. Proud Filipino 💖

          @NotUse
          ang binibini ng mga isla
          na pinanganak sa silangan
          iginapos na parang hayup
          nang nagkasalang halimaw

          bagaman tinitiis nito ang sakit na binigay ng halimaw
          siya ay mahal pa rin ng dalagang nangangarap
          kahit sya ay tinatratong maitim na ibon
          pinapangarap pa rin nya na ang kanyang iyak ay marinig

          at tuwing gabi sya ay umiiyak at nangangarap
          na kasama nya ito at naglalakad sa dalampasigan,
          mga yapak ng paa na ninanais nyang maiwan
          habang binubura ang kanyang yapak

          darating pa ba ang oras na iyon? walang nakakaalam
          kung ang kanyang ginawa ay mangarap lamang;
          kahit puro pananakit ang ginawa sa kanya
          paghihinagpi lamang ang kanyang maibibigay

          sya din ay nangarap ng isang panunumpa
          ang halimaw at ang dalaga sa may damuhan
          kumakanta ng sobrang lambing nang magkasama
          itoy mananatiling pangarap lamang kung syay aasa lamang

          haha try lang mga idol😂😂

                    I don't think the author used too much flowering words. May it be any language, anything can be translated. Plus, when translating, it is unnecessary to translate it word for word. This is a common mistake people do. The important is the essence, the meaning, not the words. Deep or shallow, anything can be translated despite the language but not by word for word.

                    NotUse

                    I am not a Filipino, but I've been to the Philippines. The people there are kind and hospitable, I love your culture and street food. If I'm not mistaken, people sell corn somewhere beside a university. I forgot the university's name and the place however. The corn there is great! Also, I wanted to help you out, so I asked for assistance from a Filipino friend of mine. He's a professor from New Era University. I'm sorry for the late reply, it was only now when he sent it.

                    Anyway, here's his translation. (It's not word for word, but the meaning and context is still there.) Your poem is wonderful by the way!
                    Ang dilag ng taga pulo ng dagat
                    Na nagmula sa malayong silangan
                    Inalipin ng hatinggabi
                    Na ang tanikala ay dulot ng bangis

                    Bagamat, batbat ng dusa
                    Ito'y hindi alintana
                    Dahil sa pag-ibig sa manlulupig,
                    Sa pag-asang marinig

                    Sa bawat gabing mapanglaw,
                    Pag-asa ang sigaw
                    Na bawat hakbang kasama siya
                    Tungo sa pagkakaisang-asam

                    Dadating pa kaya?
                    Ang katuparan ng pangarap?
                    Sa kabila ng kanyang mga sakit,
                    Tanging lumbay ang aking hain

                    Ako ay nangarap
                    Ang dilag at ang apoy, balang araw magsasanib
                    Umaawit ng magkasama, mga kantang malalambing
                    Mananatiling pangarap, kung patuloy pang maiidlip.
