Wow,.. sorry to hear that Chinese novels give you such a bad impression with weak spoiled female leads.
But I have to say that's because you only read the Chinese web-novels stories.
Chinese novels written by Jin Yong, Liang Yusheng have great characters and strong female leads also. Actually I got my inspiration to write from Jin Yong - this author (passed away in 2018) gives a lot of influence in modern Chinese literature. Hongkong and China postal office even issued stamps to commemmorate him.

        I don't know Chinese literature, but it can't be that bad since two contemporary Chinese writers (Gao Xingjian and Mo Yan) have won the Nobel Prize for Literature. I am sure that there are many many more great writers, like everywhere else in the world.

        About the CEO 'thing" - I think writers consider CEO as synonymous of a power, property, etc.
        What about the CEO of small companies with several people? It is still CEO ;)
