Hello Everyone's this discussion is all about the Nationalism with excessive and radical provocation thoughts about any country in some novels.
I know this is a Very serious topic but I understand Nationalism because we all love our country but what about other countries.
We all understand the fact that you all want your country to be at top but it isn't necessary to put radical thoughts and words without any fact.
In Fact it is all about Chinese light novels,
My MotherLand is India but I never discriminate against anything yet what I read in some lightnovels are very ridiculous thoughts and words which aren't even based on facts.
I means guys you all research for novels and your work but when it comes to researching things for countries do you all fell asleep or does it never count.
As an reader we read it without any Discrimination but when we read all we see is Black Words Against our country without any facts.
I hope maybe few Authors would read it and understand that we never hate Nationalism or feeling for your country in which you want your country at top but please write words based on fact which won't hurt our feeling and sentiments

Clautic It happens. When I see a book doing that, I straight up drop it.

I Might Be a Fake Cultivator dissed Japan
Seized by the System dissed India

There are many other novels I dropped due to such stuff. These two are at the top of my mind at present. I liked the stories until then, but a single instance straight up invoked my repulsion

It's a fine line to draw, for sure. "a world without"'s entire premise is the societal breakdown caused by an "angel" appearing and claiming one religion was "right", but too bad, the whole of humanity had lost the right to go to heaven. A few "miracles" are thrown in to convince the more weak-minded members of society.

In other words, it could, for all they know, be aliens performing a mass social experiment on humanity. "We don't know," yet. Nationalism is explored realistically in the novel but certainly not applauded or supported. The "superiority" of certain cultures is referenced only in the locality of different systems of beliefs: western society has a strong Abrahamic faith underpinning, whereas eastern doesn't.

So naturally the eastern peoples are a bit more immune to the idea that "there is no afterlife" because many weren't expecting one in the first place. There are notable exceptions and zealotry abounds.

But you won't find the MCs discriminating against people, or, if they do, getting called out or having it identified as wrong.

So far, we try to give a balanced view that all humans are monsters if pushed far enough, but there are lots of shiny gems everywhere.

Overlord_Venus And by the way, I'm with you on this. The moment I get to a poorly written character who begins their statement with: "Oh, you're [other culture here]? Never mind, I won't hire you," I'm ready to drop it UNLESS the author sets this character up as a terrible human being who experiences a proper downfall immediately thereafter.

      Which I've actually seen!

        JP_TransLaLa Do read Hacker.
A technical novel which throws shit in middle of the story with some bullshit fact that India doesn't even have its own military to protect it's border siding with China .
I means seriously We have the fourth largest military forces in the whole world and the crap about cyber security dude India and Indians are known for their IT ..lol...and it's funny how you are here to write a whole novel but don't even have your facts clear about things .
