The reason why the views on WN is absurd is because its not reliable. Unlike on othersites where there are only small counts per views in WN, it's kinda too bloated. The reason being 1 actual view can amount to 5-24 views in the view block, I've tried experimenting with dead novels (several times) The highest increase I got was 30+, with one click. Not sure if this is a bug set up by novel or intentional, my advise to new authors is don't take the views on the view block seriously. If you have a thousand views and had no comments or anything, it's actually normal cuz there were not a thusand people, it was just probably around 20-40 people passing by, clicking your first chalter, with only 5-10 peole actually reading it.
To new authors in webnovel, don't take the views seriously.
If peeps are after read count, valid read stat is the closest to it. Views is book page visits from anything and one.
I'm so happy I'm not the only one who noticed how unreliable the view count is. In my first novel, I watched it go to 50 to 100 in a matter of minutes when I refreshed the page. Webnovel should get an accurate view count instead of letting the newer authors think they have 500 views in a week.
Lol, I'm even didn't earn 100 views in one day. So... noone is reading my book?

Not only views, but comments too.
This is a typical Chinese thing. Every streaming/video hosting/reading platform are faking their data to get more hype, stimulate authors and to get more money from the ads
Consider it as if Qidian is giving a face to you
