I can not say that I am experienced but here is my honest opinion:
-Just write, although I have just written about 20 000 words I can clearly see the difference between my early writings and my later ones.
-Try to put yourself into the perspective of the reader, sometimes what you think is perfectly clear makes no sense for another because you brain atomaticly fills in the blanks. It is like a song, if you know the lyrics you can understand it perfectly fine, but if you dont it sounds like some slang
-Caracter interactions make the story interesting (mostly there are naturally other factors) but a story without caracter interactions has a good chance to be boring
-conflict drives the story

Be open and looking for new information (like you are), but understand that those tips are someone's opinion.
So I suggest if you, for example, find a good tip don't follow it 100%. Try to understand the idea, apply what you truly feel necessary rather than everything the tip had to say.

Tips here might help

Tbh, for new writers the first step is just to write. Get your ideas down in a visible form. Read as many books with a writer's eye. Ask questions about why the characters are what they are, doing what they're doing, what is their wants and needs. Why is the content formatted in such a way, word choices and so forth. Take notes of your questions and answers as you read,so you can see if any of them are relevant to your writing.

Depending on which genre you write it varies, but generally, I recommend that you:

1.Start creating your characters (appearances, traits, personality), settings, conflict, etc. before you begin writing rather as it tends to execute better than along the way.

  1. Use accurate grammar that matches either the time period your story is in or if the book is in the first person, by the age or personality of the character. It makes the book seem far more realistic.

  2. Do not make "perfect" characters! It makes it incredibly difficult for you to develop them!

  3. Inspiration. Whether it be by music or another novel etc, try to find something that will inspire you to create.

  4. Grammar assistance applications. I suggest Grammarly.

  5. Write. Even if it's not the best, practice makes perfect.

Another helpful tip is to read. Read all the good shit that you love and your brain will subconsciously absorb the style of their writings a little, it'll help you get a feel for what other readers like and how you can reach their level. Look at how they introduce characters and plot etc.

  • Develop your characters. We want to see how they grow (not physical, but internal development)

  • Write plotlines in advance and don't forget to complete every single plotline

  • Every hanging (on the wall) rifle should shoot before the end of your novel (Don't write unnecessary things)

  • Check if your side characters are flat and resemble each other. Even cannon fodder should be unique and have personality

  • Read some books about writing (like Stephen King's)

Hello! A lot of the replies here make a great point. Write as much as you can daily, whether it's poetry, short stories, or a chapter to a novel. Reading is also a good step because it inspires your story building and writing style.

Another tip that I can give is having people read your work. It can be friends, family memebers, or people online on publishing websites. You need as much feedback as you can get in order to shape your work. Both positive and negative feedback is necessary, as hard as it is to sometimes swallow the negative ones. Be open to people and try to hear as much as you can.

Oh and use editing sites like Grammarly. Totally a big help if you ask me.
