I've seen many writing contest and I am very interested to join it but, I am a little bit confused with the rule.
For me, if I want to join, At least I want to join with the hope of winning and getting more exposure to my novel but, what confused me is, the Idea that they give.

For example, let's say for the FL.. it's a story about werewolf. And then, they will give us a few idea or what they call prompt. And the rules said, that I have to follow the prompts.

So... My confusion is, when writing a story about werewolf.. do I have to use the idea they gave us or I can use my own Idea?

Hope someone can explain this to me. Thank you.

      The prompts are the general ideas given for the contest - if its contest about werewolves, writing about sci-fi space travel will get you disqualified. But as for the story ideas, they are there to help you picture the prompts, not for you to strictly follow them
