Guys I was wondering, if you got a exclusive or non exclusive contract, how much money does Webnovel pay you a month?

Which pay more?

~I do not get a contract 😂

Exclusive pays $200/month minimum for first 4 months as long as you write the associated amount of words which was 60k last I checked so 2k/day. Again, that is a minimum which means that you have the possibility of making more if your novel becomes popular.

Non exclusive I think it’s similar but you don’t get any of the needed perks that exclusive offers and you make far less. It’s known as the “At least you will get paid on WN” type contract.

Contract offers are mostly the same unless you are a higher up on Amazon or an online platform like Wattpad to where you have an established audience so WN offers said authors slightly better incentives.

    Hope this helps,

      OmniFrog This help, thank you😄

      I have another question.....

For example, if you get a contracted

How do you get your money? Can it be from PayPal? I hear some people say it can't and you have to be from your real bank account?

When signing you have to give specific bank information during the signing of said contract (more than just direct deposit type info) so I do not believe PayPal is an option. You can ask in the inkstone chat window because there is usually an editor online. They may or may not make exceptions but (going to assume here) since WN is a legitimate business that pays taxes and is responsible for employees and authors payments, they may not want to use PayPal which is harder to track. I may be wrong which is why I would ask an editor for clarification.

I do not completely agree that a contract does not matter.
Non-exclusive means that the amount you earn from there is just one of the revenue sources. You can always add more later, and even the non-exclusive contract providers are looking to add more platforms.
It is true that the % of royalties you are paid is less, but with the exclusive, you sign over your novel indefinitely. You will never be able to sell on Amazon, or on other sites for that matter. Even if you earn $200 a month the first four months, what will you do afterward? Also, you have to write 1.5k a day, every day, to get the $200. If you miss one day, you miss the MGS for that month, as far as I understood.
I have both exclusive and non-exclusive contracts. I am not against either of them, but I do prefer the non-exclusive as it gives some more freedom.

Tinalynge can you explain more between those two? Specific? Cause I don't want to chose the wrong choices and end up regret it.

You earn more percentage of the pay earned through Webnovel if you were to sign an exclusive contract, however you pretty much give away all rights to the novel, and Webnovel will be your only source of revenue.

With the nonexclusive contract, you will earn a smaller percentage of the royalties, but you will retain the rights. The contract provider also works with other platforms, so your novel will be spread to other readers.

Personally, I picked the nonexclusive for the majority of my novels, as I am not willing to take them down from Amazon for the sake of a contract on Webnovel.
