@yaoyueyi I have some questions about that. What if there are other writers recommending their books within that thread? I understand within the guidelines, that advertisement can be prohibited unless the thread is appropriate. Also, what about those asking for book recommendations for a specific genre, and my book follows underneath that category or a specific genre. For example, my book The Moon Shines On Starlight, it is qualified as a thriller. My character is specifically going through different frequent actions. Always running away from her troubles in a sense. If it isn't found within the synopsis or isn't hashtagged in my bio of the book, it doesn't count for it to be considered? I am just wanting to understand so that I do not make the same mistakes again. I absolutely love writing, and I want others to read my work. I just want to make sure I am following the appropriate guidelines, so that I may continue to write. Thank you. All the other posts that you deleted, understandable. My question is the topics like novel discussions. I have written a novel, and I would love to discuss with those who are interested? Why is that not allowed? Also, the Latest Chapter Discussion over my book The Moon Shines On Starlight, why is that deleted? The topic clearly states that it is a discussion of the latest chapter of my book. I am curious as to why those aren't allowed, when I'm simply discussing, clearly what the topic states.

Your words on the post I deleted:

Hi! I am a new writer to Webnovel! I haven't exactly wrote anything thriller or suspenseful yet, but I would love to in the future!

All good novels have suspense in them. Simply because you include thrilling moments in your novel doesn't make it a thriller.
Again, this goes back to giving people what they ask for. For example, hypothetical situation: if someone wants to read horror, they want to read scary content. Giving them a primarily romance novel, then saying, "oh, in the 3rd arc, the main characters go ghost hunting!" does not work. So yeah, if you would not consider a genre as the main focus of your story, then don't promote that novel when people ask for that genre.

I totally understand that! Best of luck.

Most readers do not visit the forum. If you want to discuss any chapters, you will get a higher engagement rate with the readers of your novel through your novel's comment section, not the forum. Thus, making a post for it on the forum is spam-esque and resembles self promotion.

Hope this clears up your questions!

Or create a discord chat room and advertise it in your book, most writers seem to create one sooner or later.

Haven't created one myself so can't guide you on this, like everything else there's likely a Wikipedia page or YouTube video explaining the steps to do it. Sorry I can't provide exact details.
