wowowubzu Also men usually get tired of the conquest when he finally stops chasing her because he was after the thrill of the chase and once that's gone he's just bored and will look for more challenges

Now I understand the logic behind harem stories... Especially harem cultivation stories. The male protagonist spends an entire arc fighting and almost dying for a woman, finally wins her heart and marries her, only to leave her behind and move to another world/realm/place in a new arc and then romances a new woman to add to his harem, because it's the thrill of getting a woman to fall for him (and she has to be some ultra-talented ice-cold beauty with jade skin from a legendary sect or a princess of a big family, otherwise it wouldn't be much of a challenge) that drives him. And the old wives are promptly forgotten.

No wonder a cultivation story of over 1,500 chapters and a dozen arcs always end up with protagonists marrying 15 different wives.

J4sper I second that motion (I really have that question for most romance stories tbh). Like where is the character and plot development ;-; WHY DO THEY JUST FALL IN LOVE REEEE

Sometimes, the book is more on the weird side, with wrong use of charm effect(and the thing that happens after xD) or scenes of blood and flesh described more than they should be. In my eyes, the perfect example of a good vampire book would be My Vampire System.

Imma save this thread as I find it most helpful. Thank you!

You know what was one of the worst vampire manhua I've read? Vampire Sphere. Good lord, the story didn't make sense, the characters were awful and one dimensional, and the dialogue was cheesy.

Tomoyuki I've read that one too (till chapter 120 or something). I can't finish because I can't remember what was the purpose of the whole thing.
There are some ideas that are interesting and could be exploited, but everything became a copy of pokemon when they started travelling around and collecting things.

Honestly, I don't hate vampire fiction, it's just not for me. It's not written for me. It's chicklit. Vampire fiction sells the fantasy of the formidable woman who tames the powerful man. it's the same story told in the woman and the billionaire or the woman and the bdsm deviant who would probably also be a billionaire. I don't begrudge the story's existence, it's just not written for anyone with balls.

wowowubzu It is either have a cliche protagonist combined with a mediocre story plot and vice versa. The is no in between.
