There’s a saying, saying that a protagonist strength is based on his antagonist’s one.
So as far I as red, qidian main protagonists are not that strong.
It’s always proclaimed that they are the chosen ones, but you know it’s mainly against some rich people or others one step ahead of them. Let alone the fact that most of the protagonists know the futur or are from our technologically advencer world in another one and some other OP powers.
I’m not saying that qidian protagonists are weak. They’re indeed fighting gods and other hellish shits.
What I’m saying is that they would be even more strong if their antagonists weren’t changed every 50 chapters and that the same antagonist would have some development.
I don’t know none of them seems to have something else in their heads that bitches and money and none of them is a real treat I dare you to say that you ever felt really worry for the main antagonist.
And all of this lead me to ask which qidian novel have the best antagonist?

I‘M currently at ~400 chapters of Release that witch, and as far as I red zero isn’t that bad, but I’m more looking for a good nov l than the best villain, it’s always better when you discover something great by yourself. Îm only asking for some introducing.

Diwu Qing Rou from Transcending the Nine Heavens maybe...

Tales of Demons and Gods' antagonist is described being too OP

Realms in the Firmament's Bai Chen.
He's definitely last-boss material, even though he's been introduced quite early in the story.
Actually, I approve of this style, because this gives him a better impression compared to those villains that pops out of nowhere... simply because MC needs to beat someone who's on the same/a bit higher level.

Unlike those mass-produced, bargain-type antagonists who only crosses paths with the MC because MC happened to travel to this area, or because MC is connected to a hot babe that makes the villain's mouth water, or because MC got hold of a legacy that villain covets, RitF's Bai Chen is a true, destined rival of the Xiao Monarch.

Veldora I like this... I've finished RITF and Bai Chen is truly one of the greatest characters I've read in a novel. But, my vote will be for the main villain of Transcending the Nine Heaven's Book 3, which, I will spoil, is not Diwu Qingrou.

The simple reason why he's the greatest villain I've seen was that he has a purpose, a reason to do what he is doing, and he isn't really wrong about his views. Also, his battle with the Chu Yan and co was some of the most memorable fight I've ever read in a novel. Bai Chen is a close second to that villain. :P Feng Lin's villains are usually good, so I expect really good villains once I start reading his two other novels.

While I feel Diwu Qingrou is the best villain bibi dong from douluo dalu is also a good villain for a webnovel. She has her own past and her own grudge. That alone is pretty rare in a webnovel sadly. Plus she was involved since the beginning with xiao wu’s mother and grandmaster. You might also like god from everyone else is a returnee. I love how the whole story was a mix of plans of different people.

While a villain has to be strong, he has to be also beatable. Diwu Qing Rou fits into this category unlike Bai Chen who is a god while mc is an ant.

xurimx Haha~ you're right. Bai Chen is literally a god who descended upon the mortal world, lol.
There were times when I thought that Bai Chen should get his own story, instead.

Hmmmm, I guess I should read TTNH soon so that I could make a comparison between the characters, but on the other hand its my policy to not read multiple novels from the same author until one gets finished... what a pickle.
