Just used the text to speech in the App again after 1-2 months and i had to download something and now the screen is white vs black and it sounds like crap it cant even say some words and there is to little control over the speed of the speech
Why change something that worked just fine

Darkload same here, but only for "is that a wisp?" The other novels are still with the "old" text to speech
It seems the most popular novels got the update while some of the lesser viewed or populat ones have not. Regardless id wish they go back to the old format because the new ones translation and sound speed is crap.

Finding threads to just say this on now but uh yah new tts is doodoo and uh that's about it fix it up get a better voice that can pronounce "did" too
I'm struggling with this because its mispronouncing everyones names too.
Seems some still use the old text to speech and they work fine
i wish Webnovel would fix the new text to speech or remove the new text to speech
Darkload They are simply bad at development and implement things that break things that work fine.
Sometimes intentionally other times due to laziness.
They should use the old text to speech, or at least removed the line breaks from what the text to speech is reading, so it doesn't read those.
That seems to be one of the biggest issues with it.
What's more, on their website they seem to have inserted an overlay that makes text to speech unable to read the novels entirely.
Seems to be to force people to use the app by removing functionality from the website.
If they can't be bothered to properly develop their app, they shouldn't intentionally break their website to force people to their broken app, but they do.
It's a matter of instead of making a good app they just actively make their own website worse to get people to use it.
This as a result as just made me, and I assume others to stop using their app and site entirely.
Mind you, I have done so despite I have spent a few hundred USD on their app prior.
The worst part is every time they respond to comments like this They claim it isn't their fault even though it clearly 100% is, and seems to be a somewhat easy fix too.
They just can't be bothered to put in the effort.
