Im new to web novel.I posted one of my books on web novel 20 days ago and got 1000 views,yes I have signed a contact with them so does that mean I start locking my chapters?
And tbh I’m still not sure how this money thing works.

Okay so, ur asking if u can lock ur chaps now, but how many chaps u already have?
First thing first, how many readers do u have? how many readers viewed ur work? and ur collection? how many chaps u already posted? Look for the answer to these questions, and I can comment if you already have to lock ur next updates or not.

Aleeshay_Suleman how many collections do you have? And locking with only 5 chapters? Most authors lock after chapter 60. Readers don't like it when they have to start paying from early chapters. And 1000 views is still less. Views don't actually matter much on webnovel. Collections do
Aleeshay_Suleman Yeah 5 chapters is too low. I'm a bit surprised you got a contract because usually they look for stories with more chapters /frequent updates etc. Views just show how many people clicked on the story not the individual number of readers (eg a reader could reread the first chapter of your story 10 times and that will count as 10 views). Collections show the number of people who like your story enough to save it to their reading library and is therefore a more reliable way to determine your popularity.

Aleeshay_Suleman Sorry for, I faced some problems and only online now, Don't lock the Chap, for now, views weren't reliable, sometimes even if only one reader read your book, it will count as 15, look how many collections do you have, then how many of them were sending you a power stone, then if you think that the foundation were enough, then atart locking the next chaps.
But I'm suggesting you to update more frequently at least 3chaps/week, and just start locking after 60 or more :) Have a good day!
