I signed a exclusive contract with webnovel and they promised me to provide 200$ on first four months but till now I cannot see any income whereas I got my income within one month after signing the contract although the income was small but it was the signing amount and I got it. Now I am thinking to cancel the contract but o have heard that it's not easy so Maybe I should cut my chapters like a 1000 words chapter is reduced to only 500 words if they see meaningless content then they will delete it themselves right? Moreover I can't see my book I wrote with so much love to be ignore like this and I haven't earned anything from their platform so they can't ask me to pay since I have caused them no loss .

Ashlan_2002 There is no term in the contract that will allow you to cancel it. You can breach the contract, but this does not null it.

The $200 is through MGS and not related to book earnings. You are required to post a chapter a day, every day of the month to receive this money. I believe there is a minimum word count on this, but you can ask your content editor directly on the details.

They won't. There is a chance they will demand you fix the content, which the contract allows them to, but it will most likely be ignored. They probably won't even respond to such a threat at all.

If they aren't seeing any further marketability in your book, they are not going to advertise it over something else. Its value is not determined by how much care you put into the book nor how valuable you perceive it to be, but by who and how many people read/pay for it.

You have your book completed at 53 chapters, which took you 6 months to write, the final chapter being posted 2 months ago. You didn't fulfill the criteria to be eligible for MGS so its only natural you wouldn't get the money.

You can try again with another book, but you must receive a contract first though before being eligible for MGS. But you agreed to the terms when you signed the previous contract, so you can't just say "I don't want this anymore" and expect it to be reversed.

Wolfick Thanks for the reply and I get that but atleast they should promote it right? I don't care about MGS but I think they not promoting it at all and if they don't see any marketebility in it then I don't think they will mind whatever I do with my book I really do regret by listening to my sister's advice and signing this but since Webnovel is not interested in my book then finem I will do whatever I want with it.

That is up to them, not you. For what reason should they choose to advertise it?

Unfortunately there is no medicine for regret. Also, you may have written the book, but by signing the contract, you essentially sold the book to them and as such, it is no longer "your" book. That is like buying a meal from a restaurant and then wanting a refund after you have eaten it, it simply doesn't work that way.

There is a word in the contract that you have to wait for a certain number of days before the cash would be sent to you. And also, there also a certain day that if they couldn't send you the cash, there is a percent they need to pay.

Idk but there are these two things written on it. I read the contract more than a month ago so I can't remember clearly.

I think you should talk to your content editor about this. Added, you could lower your content by about 800 words per chap.

          I wish it helped.

Wolfick That is up to them, not you. For what reason should they choose to advertise it?

Not exactly. The agreement between us and them states that they are required to make suitable effort in advertising your novel. It literally the only reason why they can justify takin your IP and 50% o earnings, otherwise it would be nonsensical.

Kotario Yes, but what is determined as suitable is decided by webnovel.

I was considering if I should sign the contract. Think I will wait a bit and see if the readers like it with the first chapters and see if Webnovel will think its "suitable" enough for them.
