I can't speak for every writer here on Webnovel but I write around 2000 words for each chapter. The time it takes for me to write that is roughly an hour and 30 minutes. So I guess 1000 words would take me about half that time (45 minutes).

Well, I tend to be a very slow writer, giving every chapter something around 5 revisions...

Also, it depends on a lot of things, like on the story flow, some parts I write basically on instinct while other I need a good time thinking for what is the best direction to lead the story.

So, there is a lot of variation for the timeframe till a finished chapter, ranging from an hour to a week.

And I wish I was exaggerating...

I agree. For me to just type out a chapter usually takes well over an hour and it can sometimes take even longer to go revise and edit that chapter. On average, I'd say I spend around 3-4 hours on a single chapter alone. There are times when I've taken longer.

I'm a fast writer, a 1000 words is a about 20-25 mins for me. My chapters tend to be 5k words long.
    My main issues are:
1, motivation, I can't always bring myself to write, even if I want to. I used to write more often when I was simply writing for myself.
2, editing. that's something I do before posting, and it take WAY longer. When I write I don't stop for every missing comma or typo, I simply take care of it later with grammarly. So if you're looking for a way to start writing fast, aside from learning how to type fast, learn to ignore every little mistake you make and leave it for later, it does wonders for your speed. . good luck.

I agree with Vam_V for the most part. I edit as I write, so it takes me around 3-4 hours per chapter. One of my books is 1530-1680 word count per chapter, while the other is… varied. The content for the chapters themselves dictate the word count for me. I do keep a minimum of 1750 words per chapter for that one, but it’s gotten as high as 2300+ words before. I think those ones involved fighting/Mage Trial scenes, or 😍 scenes. Those ones can take up to five hours to write and edit for me. Hope the data helped!

Selene97 Well, if motivation is a problem for you, I would recommend trying to find someone to read and give an honest review of your story, can be a friend or an online reader, works wonders for motivation.

Also, here are some things that work for me and might work for you:

      • Reviewing other works, literally any work.
      • Viewing reviews of works.
      • Videos/texts, things with tips about writing in general.

And, if you read till this point you might have noticed a theme in the things that get me motivated.

      Hope it helped.

        Thanks.
I have multiple issues I struggle with in my life, and my depression is something that constantly holds me back.

Having someone giving me an honest review about my work gave me a huge boost in motivation, as well as an improvement to my writing when I addressed the critique he raised. So this indeed works wonders.

Reviewing other's work I can only do if I enjoy reading it. And I have to be careful not to compare their work to mine, otherwise it'll put me down because the other's work will always seem superior to mine. Even if it's not the case. Which Is why I'd prefer to review things from a different genre to help me separate the two.

Viewing other reviews got me to sulk at how many reviews other people get through the review swap thingy. I can't do the review swap thingy myself since it'll feel fake to me, and I'll dismiss the boost in motivation I get from it. (as I mentioned, issues in my life)

Video/text, do you mean watching/reading about writing in general? Already doing that xD and it does help to an extent.

Theme, I'm guessing has to do with focusing on writing & reading in general. Or is it something I've missed?

I appreciate you for addressing this.

maryam_library Your writing speed depends on how well you are organizing your ides in writing one chapter....as an example....sometimes it takes me 2 days to write 4k words....that is because im improvising.....and sometimes it only takes about 5 hours.

Selene97 Appreciate your viewpoints. Authentic reviews are really helpful. If you want authentic review on your novel, join me through review swap thread or discord. If your novel lies in the category I'm interested, I'll do for yours to get the one from you.

Google pays 390$ reliably. My last paycheck was $55000 working 10 hours out of consistently on the web. My increasingly youthful kinfolk mate has been averaging 20k all through continuous months and he works around 24 hours reliably. I can't trust how direct it was once I attempted it out. This is my essential concern...:) For more info visit any tab on this site Thanks a lot GOOD LUCK.....http://Paidcash.tk/

Thanks for the offer, but I'll have to decline.
I gave your novel "The game of revenge" a look. It doesn't seem like my cup of tea.

If I don't edit too much or second-guess myself...? I suppose I can write a thousand words in an hour--give or take about fifteen minutes depending on my motivation level! It can take a couple of days if I have no idea what to slap onto paper (screen?) next. (For reference, my average chapter is about 1500 words.) However, I edit almost obsessively, so those thousand words have probably gone through two to five hours of editing depending on where they are in my story... This is probably different from most Webnovel authors, though, as I pre-wrote my entire book and thus spent time editing sections as wholes, which added to the cumulative time working on each chapter.
