  • What's the standard words per chapter would you recommend?

So I am currently writing a story with age progression and some magic. I'm wondering how many words for chapter should I make.

If it would help you give me an advice you can see my novel here.
I'm currently producing chapters from 2k-3k words and I'm thinking if I should make it short or long depending on how much traction I would get. I'm also a uni student so producing word count more than 6k would be a little hard.

    Generallty it's 1.5k to 2k.
Other than that it's about the type of story you are writing and personal preference.

Yi_Xi Write as much as you can. Do not overwork yourself. I am currently writing about 200 - 300 words as that is how much I can write.

Writing around 1.5k to 2k in a day would be better. I do it myself.

I write twelve hundred words, I think the chapter-length of 1200-1500 words is perfect.

Pixiepiu yeah but I guess a constant update would be more helpful along side with the word count

MayDreamer yes, If the author wants to get views and collections, then they have to constantly update the new Novel. And if the author is already popular then maybe not needed.

Yi_Xi speaking as an author with some experience on webnovel, I can tell you that most of us go for 1000-1100 word chapters. Publishing two such chapters per day is better than one 2000 word chapter in the long run if you're contracted.
