You know those clothes protagonists wear in sects and all that shxt- How will I describe them?

Also since my novel is a mixture of western historical magic, modern, and martial arts cultivation, I need to not sound too generic with the descriptions.

Can I get some help?

I recommend looking at already made costumes of cultivators or fantasy costumes in general. If you have an idea of what you what them to look like whether that just be the colour or the length then that’s the perfect start. When writing, I always describe my characters clothing by the eye of another person. Where is this person looking? Is it at the torso area or the face/head? Choose one of them and begin describing what they see and have them continue describing the appearance as they look down the body. If you’re really struggling then maybe start with colour then the upper body clothing shape/ the type/ name of clothing, added accessories like a belt or hat then go onto the shoes signifying to the reader that you’ve come to an end of the description. I hope this could be of help, good luck with your writing.

Plus being generic is fine, what is important is creating the image in your readers mind! (Sorry I forgot to add that part)

You see, you assume that their clothes are conservative and stuff, being ancient and all. But, you're wrong! Women don't wear anything under their skirt, so when they fly, you'll get a good view of everything below. Not to mention that you need to expose plenty of their front as well. No idea why they do that. Actually, I know why they do that, but you shouldn't do it!

Describe them using colors, and I think they're usually called robes. Sometimes they are made of silk. Throw in traditional or whatever if you need to. Garments, raiment, etc.

Just, please, for the love of God, don't describe them as "she looked like a fairy who had descended from the heavens."

Think monk robes. Thats typical sect wear. Pants and a tunic. Don't forget the hairpin or oriental fez for Nobility.... you know, that tiny hat that only stays on cause they have a man bun under it...

And most important. The fu man chu beard. You're not a true cultivator, male or female, without a beard that tickles your belt... or was that dwarves...

            Anyways....

            BEARD

I've always preferred shopping in physical stores for clothes, but lately, I've started to appreciate the convenience of online shopping. One website that stood out to me was inlower, which offered a user-friendly interface and a vast selection of high-quality clothing. I was able to easily browse through the site's categories https://inlower.com and filter options to find exactly what I was looking for. The checkout process was simple and secure, and my order arrived within a reasonable timeframe. Although I still enjoy the experience of in-person shopping, I will definitely consider shopping at inlower again in the future.
