REVIEW SWAPPING GUIDELINE:

  1. Participants don't have to read each other's novels,
  2. Just need a 5 star review with cool quotes. (I will personally leave quotes from the Joker)

Are you busy writing your novel, but worried about gaining traction for your works?

OR maybe you were swapping reviews with someone else, but the latter obviously didn't read a single paragraph from your work; proceeded to write something meaningless on the review and for whatever reason gave you 4 stars?

Well, you've come to the right place.

I don't offer solutions for the 'not reading' part, but here, you'll be guaranteed to get 5 stars (Probably. I can't say for other people, but if you want to swap with me, I'll give you your damn 5 stars, i promise).

Happy swapping!

Call me Shameless, call me small PP. I accept both as true.

POW changed the title to 5 Star Review Swaps (SPEED).

Since I don't have anything to do tomorrow, I think I'll take you up on your offer.

I'm not interested in 5 stars to be perfectly honest. Rating it a 1 would be fine. Just need something to base my confidence on, since I'm hitting the ole "Marathon of the Middle" roadblock. An honest opinion of what you think of it matters most. If it's boring, say so. I'll do the same, and give my rating accordingly.

Mine's a little niche for its genre, so keep that in mind.

I don't lose anything by giving you 5 stars. And it's not like people can't write valid criticism while also giving 5 stars.

In fact, if they really want to see you write better, they would do exactly that! Valid criticism for the author's development and 5 stars to support the work!

I love five stars! It's like seeing stats go up on video game novels! The surge of dopamine! Ungh!

Oh wait, you're actually reading mine. I'll go read yours too and give you a proper review then

Guys, you don't gotta make it believable or even read it. Just leave a quote and be happy.

Sorry for not leaving a proper review on WN, I read the 1st ch, skimmed till 5 and honestly saw a lot of good stuff.

Stuff that deserve 5 star: quality of writing and premise.

The character was great, but the first ch had tooo much exposition about him. He explains a lot of things about his personality and hobbies. Though he does jokes about it in the end, saying he's just a normal dude, which i liked a lot.

If i was a pretentious prick, I would've said that the joke implies for something deeper about the character. As if his over-explanation of himself was all but a ruse, and at the end of the day and Mc just doesn't give a fuck (especially with the hikitani icon you have).

But his actions subvert his words, with how he reveals to his readers about the location of his school. This shows that deep inside, MC wants something more from his life. He wants attention and love and something... genuine...

Buuttt, Idk. I'm merely someone who wants 5 stars (and for some reason, you gave me 4.2 even though I explicitly hinted that I just wanted a five star and a cool quote. I added later that you can give criticism but please be aware that its possible to just press 5 stars on everything, but noooo.)

PS: you can rewrite the review but with 5 stars, I don't mind it. plsplspls uwuwuuwuw

POW Yeah, I can't really justify the exposition in the first chapter, but where else was I going to put it? Like I said in my review, exposition isn't bad, it just needs to be taken in moderation. Relegating it to the first or second chapters of an arc is about the very most you can do without making it too tedious, which is what I tried to avoid. It may come off as tedious, but as you mention, it set up for a nice punch line.

Indeed, I did model Travis's character after my boy Hikigaya. To some degree. I didn't make him the fish-eyed cancer wart that he is, instead, I tried to work some of the better points of his sarcasm into Travis' experiential wit about the field of writing.

Sorry, but I don't give full five stars unless they deserve it. If you feel cheated, feel free to retract yours.

I make it a point to give completely honest thoughts about my and other people's work. I get your point about support and that, but that's just dancing around the true purpose of reviews. They're meant to signify quality, not the reader's support. A guide, as it were, to understand whether the content within the novel is interesting and well written and whether new readers should take it up based on the evaluation it provides. 4.2 is quite generous, in my opinion, and more than enough to get the casual reader into it, especially based on the content of the review itself.

Go start a discussion where only serious reviews are exchanged then! B-baka!

POW It's actually quite rare to find someone that does though. Even now, I'm still waiting on one peer that's just like that to leave his review. He said he would once the novel is finished, but I feel that is quite some time away.

And yes, I am indeed an idiot. Life wouldn't be fun any other way.

                      ShoeInk

I think your peer scammed you, but you do you.

But to be fair, even I started skimming yours, even though i intended to read it properly. I truly did, trust me. The dude probably did smth similar. Or he just forgot about it.

Anyway, if you have the time and intent, try the serious review thread. Might work, might not.

                      Good luck! And happy writing!

POW Oh no, it wasn't a scam, as he found it himself. I had no input on the matter (he wasn't writing anything, so there was nothing to swap). All I said was that my novel was niche, and he went and searched for me, just to say that he was reading it. To quote as accurately as possible, "I don't leave reviews for unfinished works."

If that's a scam, well, I must be living in another world.

but same to you. Happy hunting, and may the curse of writer's block never befall you.
