Hello fellow readers as well as aspiring authors!
I thought for a while and wondered wouldn't it be easy if readers could share their ideas what they expect from a novel of specific genre, or what else would they like to see in a novel? On the other hand, discussions like these might also help out some authors to take a look on reader's demands and expectations so that they could catch upto them.
With that in mind, I would like to invite you all to freely express your opinions, ideas, expectations, complaints, etc.
Please keep your language as clean and polite as possible since this isn't a roasting post or a place to belittle others. I want to keep this opportunity beneficial for both sides with as much healthy and lively discussion as possible

Since I am the first one in here, I would like to share my personal preferences. I am usually more interested in romance fictions which also shows a slice of life type genre. I love the story the most when the character's personality as well as their actions, especially the MC's, seems relatable to me.
It's easier to understand when the novel has an easier vocabulary and the delivery of speech is also nice and crystal clear.
Even though the genre is romance contemporary, I like to enjoy the unique real life based main story more than those R-18 scenes, something which I find quite lacking in recommending novels. I don't know if this will offend anyone but tbh some titles feel so cringey that I don't even care to read the main content.
I understand if some authors are going mainly for R-18 novels, because tbh even I wrote one back when I was a beginner just to gain experience. And now I've come to a realisation that as a reader, a good story, which is NOT CLICHE, grabs more attention.
It's quite sad to see that themes of competition such as wsa and WPC are usually cliched ones, but ig that's were the test of author's ability to insert their creativity come into use.

I write what I like to read and I think every author here should do the same. Keep it classy and let it show creativity, imagination. Let someone read your story and desperately try to imagine who you are because your talent has captured them.

I am more generic on this front. More into fantasy or sci-fi worlds that make one's imagination go haywire. I wanna see a new world and experience different journeys. Not read some drama.

As an author, I was wondering if there are any readers who's interested in reading fan fiction related to killing game schools and stuffs?

Start creating money from home .It is a terribly nice and simple job .I am a daily student and half time work from home .I made $18732 last month on-line acting from home. Everybody will do that job and make additional money by following this link and a lot of details….http://GoCash9.ml/

I seek enjoyment. If I like it, I like it. By liking it, I can immerse myself in it, and then forget the real-world problems. But I can only enjoy works that are at least creative, and not completely cliched. I hate generic AND completely previsible novels the most, makes me want to throw up.

I easily make $32,000-$38,000 each month just by doing a simple home business. This job is online and can be done very easily part-time or full-time, although no specific experience is required for this job. Anyone can join this work now and start earning like me.

Stacie_Jacobsen can you please stop doing this? You are
Literally spoiling the decorum of this forum. I hope you won't force me to report you to official authorities.

I only seek a novel with an MC that does not irritate me with his character. Them being: being too shy to not get close to girls, making decitions that are plain stupid, and being all goodie twoshoes who tries to save everyone even if it harms him. Those are the only things that I want the authors to not have in a novel and I'm good.
