How about gathering all authors who write apoclaypse type novel so we could give learn to each other

Actually as a first time writer, Except for reading hundreds of books. I dont have much idea on how write a good apoclaypse novel. So im hoping that those have wrote before or just writing now like me will share their knowledge to each other.
If you have any apocalypse story please post the link. It was easier to have inspiration while reading the same genre or type(you could call it ascopying idea hahahahhahah)

As much as possible post only apoclaypse novel. If not post those with similar tags like reincarnation, monster and etc

    bachingchung im not talking about collaborative work, what i mean is post here the link of your novel. And lets review it together give some advice or suggestion.

        Rather than collaboration, can I suggest the apocalypse to be smarter with survival element?

        Aside from canned food, people can also try to farm, right? Many apocalypse novel tend to forget this. Only if your novel mention something like extreme changes in weather or impossible to farm because of the world condition blablabla can you forget farming.

        Aside from using gun, it is better to use axe or knife to cut the zombies neck. This way, it won't be too cliche for the character to die.

        It is better to be gruesome in the novel like cutting your arm when you are bitten. Apocalypse is already gruesome genre to begin with so the additional element shouldn't be too much right? It will even be realistic.

        The Attack on Titan country is also a good reference to apocalypse surviving.

        The world is advancing so why the novel remain kuno? There are plenty cars using solar energy and there are huge trucks everywhere to push the cars that blocking the road to the side so your car can move on.

        The zombie is evolving but why is your character not? As the zombie evolve, your character should be able to have some wisdom or idea to how the human can survive or perhaps some ability or enhancement in their body? They can't possibly remain the same unless you want your story to receive bad reviews for your bad ending. This is not a short story or a movie so you cannot possibly ask your reader to love bad ending!

        Apocalypse no toride is a good manga, read it.

        Last but not least, the an apocalypse world should not be limited to only human and zombie. Beasts, plants, the world itself can also mutate. Also, watch the youtube that has a video telling a theory what happen if the human suddenly disappear from the earth.

        You will see that the nuclear powerplant will release dangerous gas because no human operate it. This will show you just how unrealistic the other apocalypse novel are.

        If you want to make an unrealistic apocalypse novel, then don't make a realistic one and started getting creative! Magic, supernatural anything, add in the genre into your novel. If you want to make it realistic, then make it as realistic as possible. Do a research!

          In fact i have some same ideas with you
          For example
          Why does only animals or plants mutate
          If we based on the idea of we come are evolved from a ape or something
          Why does human only became stronger faster or have elemental control type of power
          A mutation shoukd also happened to human for example having characteristic of a beast,fowl or plants is also feasible
          The other one plothole in the apoclaypse If all flaura and fauna mutate or evolve and became powerful where does the energy they need come from
          I dont think a normal world will be able to support that kind of large energy consumption

              But actually i dont want my mc to became hideous
              A wing mutation will do or they can revert to normal human form
              Im a longtime elder of face association
              Usually no one want to became ugly right?
              I have no problem with ugly, actually in not good looking at all
              It was just that when im writing a story i fell that my main protagonist is like my own child
              You should know what i mean

                How about a techno apocalypse.... year 2133, during the advent of space travel, when the first inter-galactic just took off to search for a new land and resources, a strange surge was emitted from the sun, rendering each and every machine useless. How will a world that has forgotten to live without technology restart their society, how will the government ensure peace when no one is surveying and maintaining security. To counter this situation and minimize the damage before the technological infrastructure is restarted, will the society plunge into further degeneration, or will they evolve from it.

                Some other points to add.... the outbreak of diseases, riots, criminal activities will be on the rise and as most of the stuff was automated, the government wouldn't have any manual security. The Anarchy may rule in this environment,.
                P.S. add some mutations caused by the that strange surge.(Mutations may only vary to biological and mental... no superpowers)

                  Chained_Soul in regard of energy. The world has abundant type of energy. Solar power practically the sun can provide energy . Moon also can provide energy. But if you are asking for unlimited access of energy, I would say the core of the world is the most powerful energy human have yet to explore. However, you have to think what would happen if the human use this source of energy. It may lead to a disastrous consequences like the world is dying and so on.

                  There is also water that have yet to be turned into a source of energy. The sea have numerous lives inside it so could there be a source of energy that we have yet to encounter? 😘 Hope my idea become helpful for you

                      Chained_Soul 😅 why would you make your character hedious? If there is no real reason for the hediousness, I don't suggest you make any character of yours as hedious. One can be evil for no reason but not ugly without a reason😘 if the ugly character has no real use for your story, avoid making one.
