First off, please ignore my 'poor grandma' (grammar) just for a moment.

Why do many authors neglected proper elaboration in their novel synopsis? Original or translation, this problem is in both type of novel. Translator's synopsis in my opinion is better than the author's synopsis.

Sometimes, I had to read the reviews to know what I'm going to be reading.

Translated novel has to do better work with xianxia dictionary and grammar.

Although I am bad at writing, it is only because I was still curing from dyslexia. For things like reading, I'm slowly recovering. It is detrimental for people like me to read a novel with poor writing quality because our brain will receive different information than other people and it is easy for us to misunderstood what written and described. For example, I won't be able to understand a joke if the emotion described poorly and grammar is messed up.

Therefore, more than anyone else, I agree that good writing skill is important for one to be recognised as an author.

And second thing that I do not understand, why people like to compare webnovel with wattpad and then make it seem like being similar to wattpad is a bad thing.

I wished people will be more open minded to accept rookie authors.

If the novel gone hiatus for more than 3 months without any update of the author status, someone can report the novel so the admins can take it down from the website. Is it so difficult?

Please remain polite to each other while discussing.

Some authors don't want the synopsis to spoil the stuff you encounter in your chapters. They write a synopsis in an opaque way that gives out the general feel or mood of the novel. Most of the time, its purpose is to attract only a specific set of readers.

If you become intrigued enough to read the story despite the vagueness in the synopsis, then congratulations you are likely the author's target audience.

If the synopsis turns you off, then it has performed its function as a filter of readers who will likely not enjoy the story.

Writing a synopsis is different from writing a novel. It's more about marketing than story telling, so sometimes even a great author, can't write a great synopsis

Exlor Very true, however, sometimes the author doesn't realize their synopsis is to plain, so if I feel their synopsis is to bland, I tend to explain such to the author, and if they do not change it, i just assume that the book too is plain in my opinion, however, if they change it, than it's all the better, so @WanDongDong I suggest you do the same.;,;.

Has the worst luck that even the God of Misfortune pitied him. He born as an orphan that was thrown into the orphanage, has the worst luck, an outcast but he is a kind-hearted person.
He never gives up on life however it would be a lie if he didn’t think of giving up.
On his 19 birthday, System 080 was sent from the universe to help him improve his luck. From negative 10, his became neutral.
He is neither unlucky nor lucky or that how it should be.
However, it seems like he is both unlucky and lucky.
He is the rare plant spirit but he is just a single blade of silver grass.
Whenever he is recruiting disciple, the disciple will have a debt to be settled.
He is rich and powerful but things that he required for himself always ended up with him making an incredibly powerful enemy.
A lord from a powerful palace demanded him to be his wife and give the lord a child.
The universe orders him to be a deity and guide the unfortunate souls.
      Is he lucky or unlucky?!
Watch him as he became The Legendary Demonic Deity.

Warning: It is Yaoi. If you don’t like Yaoi, you can still read because I think that some Xianxia and Xuanhuan have acceptable BL moment too. If there is NSFW scene I will warn beforehand.

There will be a rate for Yaoi moment. One star to five stars. If it is too explicit, I will rate it five stars, if it just both men being naked but did nothing, I will rate it one star.

If you hate Yaoi, then please, I’m politely escorting you out of my novel.
Don’t ruin the review just because you hate Yaoi.

There, tell me what you think?

YourSmileIsFading short synopsis but not vague. What I'm amazed by you was the fact that people read your novel really like your novel. Good for you!👍👍🙌

A good synopsis should contain a 'hook' to 'reel' readers in. By hook I mean the cool thing that makes your story worth reading, for example a system or reincarnation. They should be as short as possible so potential readers can judge at a glance if the story fits their interests or not. I think a lot of readers get confused because some synopses don't incorporate a hook in their description, or do so too vaguely in order to avoid spoiling their carefully constructed plot. It's a difficult challenge to balance between informing your readers and avoid spoiling too much.

I don't like Yaoi, but I can still try to give advise. It's too Long for my Taste or has some unnecessary information for the Synopsis I think.
            My try:

Our MC's luck is so bad that even the God of Misfortune pitied him. He was born as an orphan, has the worst luck, is an outcast of society but still he is a kind-hearted person.
He never gives up on life however it would be a lie to say that he never had the thought of giving up.
But on his 19 birthday, System 080 was sent from the universe to help him improve his luck.
From negative 10, his luck became neutral 0.
He is neither unlucky nor lucky!
Is this his lives greatest Fortune or worst Misfortune?!
Watch him on his journey as he becomes The Legendary Demonic Deity!!!

I changed some words based on Feeling, and Cut Short Parts that were probably Part of later Plot (found unnecessary for Synopsis)

But I changed it based on my Feeling for Storys and excitement with out knowledge of the actual plot so it is might Not be fitting to reflect the atmosphere of the story.

My Point is Just "less is more" sometimes, in my opinion :)
