krioria Although my hands are currently tied at the moment helping out with another novel, I'd like to ask what you require from an editor. This might be helpful for your future editor-to-be.

How would you like them to help you? Is it with making your story sound better? Such as helping you with small details and technicalities? Or giving you feedback on your story? The author that I volunteer for is extremely flexible and gives me free reign over her work. At some point I've practically co-authored her story. I'm familiar with her characters and thought process surrounding them and often consult her regarding small details and reasonings for certain actions. I also tell her to add more stuff to make smoother and more natural transitions because she often skips over a few seemingly insignificant details. I also help her add in a lot more description so readers can read more (lols) and also better understand the situation and characters. Just based on what I've said, do you have any expectations or rules/limits? Like what would you not want them to do?

Also, are you paying the editor? You seem to be the only one saying "editor for hire" :/ Money as everyone knows would probably be a winning factor for most people.

Another suggestion I have would be giving an excerpt for your story so people get a sense of your writing style. :) Anyways, good luck~ And please check out "He's the One" if you're interested in romance~ >w•

I actually am not looking for an editor, I'm wondering if someone would like to hire me as one. Although I am interested in posting my own original story at some point, by that I mean when I have most of it written and laid out, I'm offering to be someone else's editor.
I feel that there aren't a lot of editors on the site in comparison to writers/translators, so I'm offering my services for free or for pay (depending on what they want me to do). But you do bring up a lot of good points, I apologize about my earlier post since it was misleading, I was trying my best to write a simplistic advertisement and didn't quite make it concise enough.

I can only offer you credits in my book
But I'll make sure to edit the chapters as much as I can before handing them over to you.
Here is what I'll require you to do if you accept:
1. Check for any typos or grammar errors (this isn't that much of a priority and won't be a problem either, since I make sure to correct all of these)
2. Check for plot holes or any discontinuity between chapters. (I do check for these but I'm not really sure if I'm doing a good job, so I would like someone to reread and review my chapters before I post them).
3. Check if my chapter flows, dialogues are realistic, character consistency, if I need to describe more and if so which areas and an overall analysis of areas that need improving and how I can make them better. (This is the part I'm having most trouble analysing and also why I came here looking for an editor).
