Do they represent how many times our novel has appeared in searches? How many times has someone actually clicked the novel in order to read it's synopsis and characteristics? How many times chapters have been read? Or a combination of several things?

The information we received on the discord is that those are total Views only.
Views are counted for a unique view per chapter.
Example: You have a book with 10 chapters.
10 users read all 10 chapters. That's 100 total views.
5 users read 10 chapters twice. That's only 50 views, not 100.
5 users read 5 chapters while the other 5 read all 10. That's 75 total views.
17Sphynx17 that makes the author who make 3 short chapters @1000 words each will get more view than author who make 1 long chapter with 3k words right?
SweetsTomato yes. Having a chapter of 500 words vs 3000 words still count the same in terms of views.
We received recommendation from WN staff before that chapters around 2500 or more should be split up. It's sometimes not about just the views but also eye strain to the reader.
17Sphynx17 eye strain is right. Also mentally draining. I warned an author before that his 5000 words per chapter would tire out his readers but he didn't take me seriously.
