  • How much does a webnovel original author earn?

I see a few ways to do it:

  1. Already have a story partially written, say 200,0000 words were already done. Then you only need to write 2000-3000 words per day.
  2. Write as a team that way the words per day requirements can be spread out. Either as a small writing team or something huge like the Stratemeyer Syndicate (Nancy Drew, Hardy Boys etc) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stratemeyer_Syndicate
  3. Be one of those rare prolific writers that do exist (Isaac Asimov or Frederick Faust(best known by his pen name Max Brand) for example) See:

      N0xiety Exactly my thoughts. Not worth the amount because it only rounds the amount you get to 400 rather than giving you extra 400. Had to write full time and $400 may not be a sustainable amount in most countries.

            Nyam That's only ~60000 words per month. So no they wouldn't pay the $400/month mentioned on their website.

                checkm8 What that translates to is, either it's impossible for one person, or be a freak of the nature. Even the most prolific writers can at most touch the 4k words a day speed. And quite frankly they are indeed freaks of nature. Writing 4k words a day would equate to someone like J.K. Rowling pumping out new books every 1.5 months. So it's not that viable even for full time professional writers, let alone amateurs with other jobs. Ofc, it gets alot easier if you use cliche patterns and filler. Rather, it's almost impossible without them. You can also structure the novel in such a way that just the names mentioned in the chapter fills up %25 of it. It's quite common in face slapping novels. Create scenes that have about 4 characters with back and forth confrontations so just the names of the characters being repeated can take up to %25 of the whole chapter. Add the cliche trash talk patterns and voila! Suddenly it's not that hard to write 4000 words a day...

                    They earn "Disappointment".
                    Another system "Quantity over Quality", more novels like True Crap World, where only authors care about word count.

                    English is my secondary language and my vocabularies are so....
                    And don't mention about grammars. I am hopeless.
                    In a day, I only able to write 1000-2000 words. So pathetic!
                    And it is very tiring to browse your dictionary again and again everyday. My eyes get easily sore...

                          LaylaCool view is an actual click and scroll of a book page regardless of monetary value to the story. It's a more genuine stat these days now that copy protection is in place as pirate bots used to drive the views up unrealistically high.
