How much does a webnovel original author earn?
ChrisX if you're fluent in chinese, you could just translate. You might even earn more for less work.

ChrisX No, as far as I know, completed novel is not a necessary for a contract, but update frequency, writing quality and popularity are.
dapenggaofei Oh I see. Thanks for the response I'll work hard then.
BTW you can apply for a contract here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSchNZTTmOK7vz3cOrrtcm0rFKXT6PIgIZ-7CaT6ZonB_leg3w/viewform
ChrisX don't need to think so much about the payment. If you really have a passion as a writer, the most important thing is to increase your writting skill. After that the payment will automatically followed. There will always a good ending for hard working people. So let's work hard together!

China Literature (Qidian's Parent company) has 6.4 million authors, only a select few ever actually received contracts. It's all a numbers game.
As far as the $400 for 120,000 words/month is concerned. That's the equivalent of writing 2-3 novel length books every month (Or one epic-length novel). In page count terms, it's writing between 400-480 pages every month.
If you can maintain that pace, especially if you have a decent writing style of any sort then you are better off just publishing to Amazon where the self-publishing royalties can be around 70% to the author if they solely publish on Amazon, meaning that they remove the chapters from other websites. Otherwise, if they leave/make the content available elsewhere it's 30% otherwise).
Plus Patreon/donations are a must if you become semi-popular.
Just beware that if you sign with QI they will make you take down your Patreon.
Just use this web as a learning platform. If your skill improve, you can self-publish your story. Skill. The most important thing is skill.
.......
I guess i need to join another english course :))

I see a few ways to do it:
- Already have a story partially written, say 200,0000 words were already done. Then you only need to write 2000-3000 words per day.
- Write as a team that way the words per day requirements can be spread out. Either as a small writing team or something huge like the Stratemeyer Syndicate (Nancy Drew, Hardy Boys etc) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stratemeyer_Syndicate
- Be one of those rare prolific writers that do exist (Isaac Asimov or Frederick Faust(best known by his pen name Max Brand) for example) See:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_prolific_writers
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Max_Brand#Legacy
Wait a minute... so it won't enough if you write only 2000 words per day?? But if you write 4000 words, they'll pay you?!
