Yakumo What are you reading that's unprofessional? Not saying there isn't some shoddy work being done here and there, but it's not like everything here is mtl-quality.

      Ryiel I really don't mind hobby translators who ask for donations, but as soon as it's commercialized I expect the same quality like with every other novel, especially if these prices are even higher than professionally edited hardcover novels. From a professional translation, I expect hardly any mistakes. Yes there are some good translations out there, where I find maybe one tiny mistake in 5 chapters, but there are just as many bad translations with at least one mistake in each chapter and even some black sheep with unedited chapters. Some of those bad translations are even premium novels and demanding so much money for them is really ridiculous.
      The version of the novels which QI publishes on amazon are edited again after completion. Dunno whether they will replace the chapters here with the final version. I doubt it.

          Belbute yup, but novelupdates only show the latest unlocked chaps which are free. So, if you never know how many premiums are there, you will not feel the pain of missing out much. Schrodinger's cat theory in novel😂😂😂.

              Yakumo I agree there should be some standard of quality, which there really isn't. Some of that blame should fall on the editor rather than the translator, though. I don't mind how QI functions, really, aside from the lack of a standard of quality. Would it be nice to read everything for free? Sure, of course. Do I expect to be able to? No, I'd be more surprised if I could.

It's just the same for my shades of grey example or movies. There are lots of pirated movies but ppl still buy them and visit cinemas. Or it's the same here...                           Ryiel I also don't blame the translators and not even the editors. Imho this situation it's 100% QI's fault. They barged into the fan translation scene and wanted to commercialize it. The quality didn't improve much, but instead, QI introduced this overpriced premium system. These are no longer donations, but payments. It's a business, so I just apply my quality standard here like on every other product I buy and when I consider the price here, ppl should get top translated and edited novels. Instead of rushing to push out an overpriced premium system, QI should've first implemented a proper system for quality assurance. This feels rather like some kickstarter or early access, where I have to invest/donate and get the first prototype with production faults...
