My story has some illustrations and I place these links (google photos) in the author notes and the description of the book. I also sometimes use polls. But the problem is that, especially on the phone website and app, it's almost impossible to copy paste links and people aren't often bothered. I think writers would be helped if we could add actual hyperlinks that can accessed anyway with just a click rather than the current inaccessible text. This may already exist and I don't know so please let me know

    Yes, would be good if we got that. but I'm afraid that will take a long time. I mean, until now we still can't even have things like "uncommen" characters like ">" or something like that in our chapters :(

    The danger of outside link was VIRUS and HACK! If it is good it would only be a link advert, or a rickrolling. This copy and paste allow most non-tech people to stay safe. People who really wanted to check the picture will check the picture. I like this. You couldn't image older people easily click those link.

    This made some weakness like some authors would love to advertise their private site, patreon, ko-fi, paypal donation, etc. Perhaps webnovel could even made the platform for author like tapas with their tips.

      UnhingedTaboo actually there will be a patreon link. If you try the new 'webnovel lite' version, you can see it. The patreon link is placed at the end of latest chapter, along with 'write a review' and 'vote power stone' icon. But this is only found in translated novels with patreon account. We can't be sure original novels will be given the privilege.

          And if it happens, the author may have to sign a really fUcked up/oppressive contract along with the already bad one they did previously to become official authors in Qidian....!!
