With Qi's approval, some of the original authors including me have decided to host a meet-up event in the Philippines!

It would happen next year at around February or March. It doesn't matter if you're a reader of our novels or if you're just a fan of Webnovel, anyone can join!

But so far, it's still in its early stage so we need the input of you, the readers. Every single reply would help out a lot!

Questions are:
1.) Are you interested in coming to this type of event?
2.) In which place would you prefer the event to be held? (within the Philippines, of course)
3.) Between February and March, when would you like it to happen?
4.) If there's an entrance fee, how much would you be able to give?
5.) Would you like merchandise with the Qidian logo printed on it?
6.) How long do you want the event to last?
7.) What activities would you like the event to have?

Also, if you have any other suggestions, don't be afraid to add it to your reply!

I would come but cant do feb or march :(
    still, merch is cool
and 3-7 days is a good time period
    workshops would be nice

      I'm interested! Very!
For me, anywhere as long as it's in the NCR area sounds good.
Saturdays, please. Feb 23 perhaps? Mar 2?
Entrance fee... around P150? Or lesser Does this include food?
      Merchandise with the Qidian logo!
      Half a day event
I want games with prizes. I want a q&a with the authors. I want food!

If it's in Manila then I'm not sure to attend. I'm in Cebu. I also believe Cebu City is more strategic. I suggest organizers will contact airlines for early booking and affordable lodgings to where the venue will be held. Just a suggestion. For entrance, make it not so expensive to have higher attendance, 300-500 pesos might be possible but can't tell for others. A day or two would be good unless organizers have something more interesting agenda in mind. Qidian logo is fine if they'll sponsor the event. I hope the original novel's authors will be given a highlight with their works.

        1.) Yes.

2.) In Manila. The World Trade Center or Mall of Asia would be a good venue to host the event.

        3.) Whichever works

4.) around 50-150 pesos would be reasonable enough to let us novel readers drop in but there will be massive attendance if it were free.

5.) Of course. Why else would we go to this event if not to get official merch!

6.) A weekend long would sound reasonable enough

7.) This is a question that would be the focal point in attracting the pinoy readers so obviously the novels popular in the Philippines from here should be involved.

Some Ideas i had in mind are:
        - A meet and greet with famous authors from Qi (Butterfly Blue, who created The King’s Avatar is surely one of them)
        - Also a introduction/ meet and greet with the local Authors who publish their work here
        - A panel from the successful authors from the Philippines who've joined Qi to inspire aspiring authors
        - Some Speakers from Qi who can encourage aspiring authors
        - Presentations from Qi about their plans on whatever involving the Philippines

Those are some of the things on the top of my head I can think of right now.

Interesting... Makati or manila area would be good... 500php or less for a 1 day event? Preferably on a weekend (sunday might be better... Less traffic😉) ... Author-signed Freebies and merchandise with logo would be nice... 😄

            TrueDawn
            1. Yes.
            2. If it for me I really would it to be held in Leyte region. But of course it will not be so easy to decide. Alot of factors to be consider.
            3. February is cool.
            4. Less than 500.
            5. Definitely a yes. It is considered as our remembrance to attend such fun event.
            6. What the management can offer. Depending on how many activities are there.
            7. A workshop, q and a, picture taking with the authors along with the editor and translator if possible. Draw lots. Contact with the authors (lol). And of course a groufie with the whole staff will be awesome. Haha

Maybe putting some merchandise where the print in the shirt, or bag or bracelet, etc. With there favorite title story or character and with the author and translator(s) will be great.

              1.) Sure
2.) Not familiar with the area, but it would be nice if there are interesting tourist spots to visit in the area (since a couple of us would be traveling from far to go there, might as well make it worth the trip).
3.) February would probably work better.
4.) Depends on what that entrance fee would cover. If it's just a meet-up and Qi isn't going to provide anything, it would be distasteful to charge for it. If they provide meals, contract a venue or something then we can consider that.
              5.) I wouldn't mind.
6.) A couple days would be nice.
7.) Writing prompts, Karaoke, Original novel promotion, Q&A, pictures.

Mall of Asia, or any other places in Manila please. :)))

oh i like that! Manila is fine or Cebu(never been there) en what ever will be decided will be cool for me... I'm just hlad for this upcoming event....

TrueDawn Ive never imagine writers could be this outgoing. More so, writer's event. I hope to hear a good feedback when this indeed happens.

Please maintain a form of decency. You may make a few girls reading this thread to feel creeped out by such disgusting behavior.

                    Now back to the topic.
                    1. Yes I'm interested but I'm not sure if i'll be able to attend. (Reason: Work)
                    2. NCR
                    3. Feb.
                    4. As long as it is affordable.
                    5. Depends

I’m so excited about this. I’m stoked. It’s awesome to meet authors and fellow filipino readers of Qi.

Since it’s an official meet up. I’m willing to pay 500php. I hope this entrance fee includes some freebies like... idk? A lanyard or some kind of memorabilia? A snack maybe?

Also, it would be great for aspiring writers to learn from authors. Why not do a mini workshop? Some games? And Q and A? AND OH MY GOSH. A KARAOKE BATTLE WOULD BE FUN!

About the venue? I do hope it’s in Manila. We can hold it in a cafe? Or restaurant (if its 20-30 people) Here’s a suggestion, why not livestream the event so people from other parts of the country can join?

And btw please make it saturday! Merch is fine too! :)

Thanks a lot! if you need help organizing it. I’m willing to help 💖✨

soymilku Sounds fun, we're planning on staying together and a Farm House in Rizal then do some hiking, but it's still tentative since we're tallying the people's reply.

I support this. I'd like to meet up with fellow authors and readers alike.
Although I'm not sure if we're going to have enough of an audience to fill up big venues. (Only because I haven't felt much of a presence from the Filipino community enough to fill up the regular big event venues in manila)
But it's still going to be next year so I guess we'll see.

I wanna go but I'm really poor. I might not even have the money to go there :'(

just give the date. I'll see and try early booking tickets but no place to stay in Manila.

                            MOA might be good.
Not sure if I'll be going but let's see if it will be worth going to.

                              To answer the OP

1.) Are you interested in coming to this type of event?
-Probably those who made it this far into the site will be.

2.) In which place would you prefer the event to be held? (within the Philippines, of course)
-If the target is maximum number of attendees then well known event venues in Metro Manila would be good.

3.) Between February and March, when would you like it to happen?
                              - Probably near the end of March so the younger audience still in school would be able to participate. (in case this is not only a weekend event)

4.) If there's an entrance fee, how much would you be able to give?
                              - this would depend on the amount of things we are able to do in the event including giveaways. But generally below 500 pesos so that more people will decide to go.

5.) Would you like merchandise with the Qidian logo printed on it?
                              - same answer to the first question. We've made it this far and even opened this thread so of course we are.

6.) How long do you want the event to last?
                              - I don't think webovs are a big enough thing in the PH for it to last more than a weekend.

7.) What activities would you like the event to have?
I agree with the other activities @iGoo i think it was had. found it (iGoo)

To add a few of my own.
                              - Cosplay
                              - Author Workshops (Writing 101 etc)
                              - Panels (Author, Media, etc)
                              - Qidian Exclusive Previews
                              - Exclusive PH event Merch
                              - Meet n Greet (This needs to be mentioned again)
                              - Local Authors (So that we know who our fellow Filipino web novelists are)
                              - Presentations
                              - Contests and Raffles

Also i do need to say that this event may have the potential to attract more readers who haven't wandered here or open their senses to webnovels. So proper promotion before the actual event would be advised.
