  • What do you guys do when you have writers block?

Normally when I have writer's block on a specific story, I tend to start reading the story from chapter 1(prologue - depending on where you start your story). A lot of times while reading, I get a spark of inspiration that gets me back to writing.

Another thing is to maybe try writing random scenes out that aren't really relevant to your story. Eg. your mc and their love interest go on a movie date. (Write about the date, how they reacted, who asked who, what movie they watched etc.) I know it sounds dumb asking you to write something like this when you've got writer's block, but it may help get into your story again - especially if you write in 1st person, it can help you find your 'character's voice' if that makes sense.

You can also try looking at writing prompts, trying to see if they spark any creativity from reading them. Also reading other books in your book's genre (books similar to yours) may give you ideas.

In fact, the best solution in such a situation is to simply open a document, notes, whatever, and start writing. At first it will be really difficult, but gradually thoughts will begin to form into sentences. If you are planning to start your own blog, then try to decide on the topic of the blog. Personally, I'm interested in travel, and on this web page you can see what opportunities there are now for those who travel a lot.
