Just thought it would be cool if there were a storyline that focuses on creating martial art techniques and cultivation techniques. Only time I can remember it being done was in ISSTH when he made that cool karma binding martial art and that when he materialises that bridge or whatever, even then he never seems to try making anything new again. If something like this exists please let me know. Just a bit tired of MCs getting strong because they’re following in some other daoists footsteps, if you get strong that way you’ll only ever be second best at most.

I personally didn't care about this step as a reader. It is a cheat for author to make some free word counts. Which this Rabbink had planned for future use when I need some filler chapters.

        PuddingPeddler I’ll add that to the list aswell thanks. I didn’t mention it before but the alchemy in ISSTH is one of my favourite parts, every character seems to have their own unique way of concocting, they follow the same recipes but they have their own ideas about what an alchemist really is, writing stuff like that can be difficult but when it’s done well it really makes the characters feel a lot deeper.

            Further point, is there a Webnovel where there is no cultivation and one guy invents it?
            That would be cool but he’d have no rivals so I guess it would have to be some sort of scenario where a bunch of people have their own ideas about how humans should get stronger, a situation where you can’t just go “oooh I’m this level” “ah ha well I’m this higher level so I’ll definitely win” and so on (though things rarely are that simple).
            Or a story line where everyone’s method of cultivation is wrong and someone figures out a new better way.
            Just something I had a thought about.
            Any fellow daoists who know of something close to that?

              The fun part, the system is strange. They would issue certain mission and give something to MC. For example: Village Building System... You can easily get the idea of the novel.

              The bad part, the system take the storyline and forced the MC to continued to do their mission. So wothout the system, the MC is character-less character. The example above: It made the MC build a villlage. A new plot would appear because of the system. All the MC goal would be to do missions for the system to get stronger.

                  MasterRabbink Cool, I get the picture. Maybe these stories are as popular as they are because it makes the reader feel that they have as much control over the MCs actions as the MC does.

                      People also want something easy and fast. We live in fast food era. Cultivation method usually slow and difficult. This is why overpower hero loved by the reader, but made the author confused how to balance.

                      Webnovel is a wish fulfillment story. An easier would be better.
