It is hard. Not to discouraged, but to give reality. Most authors here only want to share their stories.
Rather than aim for English speaker. I don't know where, but try find Spanish speaking reader/sites. Spanish is one of the largest language in the world. There will be readers.
Add Patreon. That is they way for some people made money.
However you could not just publish and wait for the money. You need to continue writing.
If your novel good. Pay some translator to professionally translate it for you. Use Patreon again.
Perhaps you could share your spanish version here. At the worst, you only got a few readers. Ask for Patreon to pay for translation. Translate it, and post it the English version.
Personally I could only read a bit Spanish, so count me out as a reader.

You could check the statistics of Wattpad author. Where there are many amateur authors, how many made it above the 1 million view threshold.
Other example Qidian itself. There is millions of authors in China, but only few could make it big. Qidian only promote the Top 10 highest earning author. What about the bottom 20%?
At this time, WN/QD hadn't fully completed the monetization system. So as an author it is not profitable to publish here. Everyone who published here now, came from loving the web novel in the first place.
This Rabbink didn't agree with WN future system (I prefer something like Netflix/Spotify), yet I believe WN had better statistic than me. They are the biggest Chinese novel platform for a reason. This Rabbink is only a small businessman.
Meanwhile, as a readers, this is our heyday. Quickly read those translations before it become paid novels!

Royal Road is the only sight that I know of that is good for such, unless you can get a minimum of 50k words early on, and post 20k words a week with chapters being 1500-2500 words per chapter... that's what it'd take on here.;,;.

DeJeL Royal Road is only good for advertisement. Author publish their work and if it is popular, removed earlier chapters and sell it as an ebook in Amazon. It might be good if you have western fantasy.
The best part of Royal Road is the original had some ways to be promoted, but there is too many established story.
