Hello! I'm new to this web novel platform and excited to start writing a book. I'm currently facing some challenges with my writing style. Can you provide an example of how I can begin my writing and suggest what kind of style might work best? For now, I'm leaning towards a third-person perspective, but I'd love to hear from experienced writers who can offer valuable insights. Thank you, and have a great day! And don't forget to drop your master piece.
Provide yours honest ideas

Okay so writing styles typically depend from writer to writer and what type of story you're telling, but third person is generally a good place to start as a newbie author. I would also recommend you stick to past tense writing (the story is written only in past tense) as it's the easiest and 90% of the time the best way to write.
Also depending on your story, you might want to go with a mixture of narrative writing (giving info about the story - world, characters and conflicts) and descriptive writing (using imagery to create a clear picture in the mind of the reader, appealing to their senses.)
Last thing I would advice is show vs. tell. You'll hear this a lot but it's best to show your readers things about your story than to tell them with a long explanation. There are times when you're going to have to tell but it's best to generally go for a show. This article is really good at explaining this:

Hopefully, this helps a little
Lyra_Lexicon I wouldn’t consider myself a veteran writer, I’m more of a newbie but as someone who loves to read. I would say dialogue and character building along with world building are what is going to keep readers interested. And never stray from your original concept, for writing styles.
Write your novel as you want, but make your grammar good, nobody wants to read an unreadable novel that kills brain cells to read.
Stay faithful to your concept
Lyra_Lexicon I focus on writin action, you can see how I write mine, if you have any suggestions I would love to hear them.

Lyra_Lexicon I agree with de_writer (although, I started in 1st pov when I was just starting on writing and it has become my comfort zone ever since cause it's way easier especially when it comes to dialogues and thoughts—well, at least for me). If I had to add anything, I suggest be a bit more descriptive (but not too much) when it comes to places/surroundings, characters, important objects, etc. so the readers will be able to visualize them more easily. When it comes to descriptions, I think it would be more interesting to combine them with an action.
ex: I heard someone called my name. I turned and was met with clear blue eyes. The lady tied her long blonde hair into a bun as she said, "You're late."
In this, you can infer that the girl had blue eyes and blonde hair but instead of writing "The lady had clear blue eyes and long blonde hair tied into a bun" straight up, combining the descriptions with actions makes them more interesting—in my opinion at least.
Also, for your characters, make them more fleshed-out, including the supporting characters and villains—not just the MC. I suggest making character profiles (you can just make these on a separate doc or whichever software/platform you are using when writing). Include their physical features, habits, likes and dislikes, pecularities (if there are), fears, background story and whatnot. And then you can slowly introduce the characters' unique characteristics/traits as your story progresses. This will make them feel more alive and the readers will be able to remember your characters easily if they can associate a character with 1 or 2 unique traits. This will leave an impression on the readers, which in turn get them to be more invested in your story.
CADMUS As a female writer, I am interested in creating a novel with a male lead character. Thank you for your advice, but writing in the first person can be challenging for me as I find it difficult to fully grasp the story from that perspective.
I've been writing for a quite time and i started writing a short story, to begin in writing you need to find your genre what genre you prefer because it well help you. You will not have a hard time in terms of imagining things in writing since you prefer that genre you are already familiar with it (reason because you watch or read that genre most of the time,)
In a writing style like the point of view it usually depends on what you really want. For me it differs base on the story sometimes 1st pov focus on individual character development while 3rd pov is much more focused on world-building. You can practice both different points of view, but I personally have a hard time in 1st Pov due to my genre is fantasy.
And also don't forget to balance things in terms of plot. Sometimes the writer is focused on characters that the world-building becomes suck, vice-versa.
Eiffel_Olympus sure i will try .
