I don't know many book stores that run that type of scam, charging premium rates for out of date books. I know novels on your top 20 rating that bring in 10,000 of thousands of dollars each week are your cash cows. Don't you think reducing the cost after the product has been on the shelf for months and years would put you on par with industry standards?
My recommendation would be to reduce the cost of chapters more than a month old by 50%. Mass release chapters 6 months out of date at further discounts.
$300.00 buys a lot of excellent new releases from the top online book store and that includes audio books. Readers will migrate away if you can't remain competitive and develop customer loyalty.

Lildickyrida Rebirth of a Broken Demoness. I agree, this novel is interesting starting at chapter 1. Quote, "Born a guy, died a guy. There's absolutely no sense in changing my gender after I had entered purgatory." LOL, so the story has a gender swap theme at the get go. I can't say I have read many with this theme, so I am interested by the smart writing style and insights. Checking his chest and Adams Apple, my gender identity and primary concerns start lower, so I assume Author Hyowha is female.
Regardless, I will be reading at least a few more chapters, and at 91 chapters this should be a good read. Thanks for the recommendation.

MishaK ok, I just finished reading chapter 1 and I feel this is a great story. Plenty of action off the bat, smart combat scene that involved a shift to utilize the shapeshifters human form to wield a knife. Even included a hint of elemental or shamanic magic.
While it sounds descriminatory, I find I can't identify with female main characters. That being said more books should be written with female leads. Authors of my generation were predominantly male and I enjoyed imagining myself in the main characters roles. Women should enjoy the same pleasures of strong role models.
That said, the lead character going into heat when confronted by the Alpha is different from male characters placed in the same position. It's death or forced submission, a testament to mindless violence that has served caveman to marine for generations.
I recommend this novel to women who enjoy strong female main characters and werewolf fantasies novels with a hint of sex in chapter one that I am certain will developed into a steamy romance within a couple of more chapters!

PaperbackWriter sounds cute and funny, I am looking for something deeper, with a plot or better yet a tapestry of them, interwoven and revealed as the novel unravels. Where threads become knotted and characters emotions are strained to the breaking point. Finally a conclusion that may or may not lead to more.
Good luck on your story. This website needs more science fantasy and less sitting around cultivating.

In my opinion while this style of writing provides amateur authors with a platform to publish and theoretically a modest income. I believe it ingraines poor writing habits that will cripple them from writing more than eObituaries in the future.
The comments each chapter are rarely better. I like to think of them as a book club where readers discuss the virtues, failings, or insightful tidbits the author might be presenting. Instead, they are full of self interest begging for mass release, thanks and other one word bites to qualify for daily SS bonus.
When I am through reading the few novels that drew me here, I may return to purchasing enovels. They are cheaper than this and provide food for thought as well as entertainment.

Hyowha I fear you are correct. I find many of the novels on this website shallow and uninteresting. I don't understand why authors don't understand a good novel is about exploring the human condition from multiple angles and what better way than not being human. When non-human characters try and emulate human behaviour, classics are born. Pinocchio is one such story. Maybe Pinocchio doesn't translate well into Chinese and thus the simple concept is lost.

I enjoy meta humans, werewolfs and vampire stories done well. The concept of good, evil and everything in between living and battling just beyond our pariferal vision can be more entertaining than a MC wimp growing to Godhood because they cultivate.

I don't recall a public notice of this change so I assume it was a dirty secret you hoped would go unnoticed or unreported. This free feature compensates for the many SS's wasted on filler or poorly written chapters amateur writers often produce. With the large numbers of readers why not use advertising as an alternative revenue source. Like the idea of spending SS's to bypass advertising or spending 30s to watch an ad to unlock a chapter.
I know sourcing advertisements is actual effort, but you expect readers to increase their efforts to earn income to purchase SS's. I think this website should rethink the Daily Check-in change.

'autocorrect' it is surprisingly there are so few errors. I know every time I take a break while writing something I will reread it, and wonder "What the hell!"?

Make your own luck, buy as many lottery tickets by exposing your story to as many readers as possible. With so many authors in the world, you need to distinguish yourself. Publish everywhere and to everyone would be my advice. An update for those who might be curious. No response was received from webnovel, so I can only assume that like Facebook and other websites, abusers are not their problem. They are a platform to earn money and not responsible for the its use or miss use. The problem of abuse is systemic and when good people do nothing, evil flourishes. When companies, organizations and governments believe this is not their issue, they overlook the simple truth... they are formed of people.

After receiving a comment that drew my attention to my blocked comment, I attempted to understand how the '...' "Report abuse" feature works. My help searches were unsuccessful, and my inquiry from Help&Service is still pending. Therefore I am turning my questioning to the forum.
1) Does a single "Report abuse" by a reader block a comment or does it require several complaints? The later makes more sense as and accidental input by a user can occur. A single user, using this feature can censor content to only their viewpoint and that in itself would be abusive use of censorship.
2) If people are abusers, spreading hate and prejudice, this feature is a great option, but is there oversight? Facebook and others are self regulating following issues such as occurred in New Zealand. Does Webnovel have a similar review leading to the warning and banning of abusers?
3) I read a brief note regarding Webnovel not tolerating abuse on this website, but could not locate that policy to refresh myself as to its content. Why is this not a feature message that a user can reference when selecting to report an abuse?

Mo_Fan_Magic_God I fear I have lost my zeal for VM and am enjoying King of Gods here and Age of Adepts back on GT. I still add a daily vote for VM on GT as it has provided me with a great deal of enjoyment. Maybe I will get my VM spirit back in the future but the long gap diverted my interest and the other two novels post regular updates so my interest has never wavered. I will continue to follow this forum post because I have enjoyed the chat stories.

Mo_Fan_Magic_God VM may have uploaded a bunch of chapters but they need to re-earn my trust. I will say the editing and translation is excellent. So if they took the time to perfect their craft, then kudos to them. The fact that they were absent without explanation is a black mark I want them to learn from. I will with hold any patronage until I feel justification.

Well I have enjoyed Versatile Mage very much and I enjoy discussing the latest releases with other VM fans. It adds a little extra to each chapter when I read how others appreciated or expressed opinions on the releases, editing, translation, or authors plot dynamics.
I enjoy discussing theory with friends and colleagues, we all benefit. Thus the slow releases is very disappointing and I very much hope the issues resolve soon.
