If you look at what gets the features, power stone votes and sky rockets on this site, compare it to your book objectively and think if it's going to be something readers would want to pick up and read. Look at your book as if you're a stranger walking past it in a bookstore. Will you honestly pick it up the book by the cover if it's next to any one of the books that are being featured on this site?
I viewing this method with PsyberRose's story in mind. I've seen both her covers, honestly her interest skyrocketed as soon as the new cover was released. Her book is on the popular page of her category now. Covers do help.
