I have been reading novels here for a long time now, including those trashy romance novels (don't judge me). And in all these stories, the characters are too bland. Especially for transmigrate into books, reborn, etc. There are only two types of FMCs in those, stupid and naive, cold and stupid. Really, no matter how genius they are, they all seem stupid with the emotional growth of a three years old child. And they are all beautiful, if not, they become beautiful through some methods. They also mysterious know how to fight, and have supreme talent for medicine and good at everything. Throughout the story, there is no struggle, no character growth, no meaningful message. Most of them are just the same stories with just different names, literally. I have seen enough of the same plot that I even wondered if there are any copyright laws in China. It's simply dreadful. I would like to see novels with struggle and emotions, not I am a block of ice and I can do everything. Not just MCs, side characters, antagonists, all suffer from the wooden block syndrome. Some characters are so stupid that even Charlie, the pet frog, is smarter than them. When you read that sort of novels, there is no immersion, no connection with the characters, just being painful.

For a long time, I have been an ardent hater of racism and nationalism in Chinese Novels. However, not a long time ago, I have reached enlightenment as I was thinking about why those Chinese authors like that. They are being racist because they want to. Actually, all of their racist writings are a shout-out for help. You see, in most Chinese Web Novels, the Xia nation was in danger. Especially in those, Urban Qi recovery type novels. That is because they have a rich culture and with that came many legends that were reawakened if I have to say. So, in those trying times, MC appeared and destroy all those monsters, single-handedly saving Xia nation, or You-Know-What nation. After that, others nations came into the play, pressuring the Xia nation. MC once again saved them. However, as I read them, I see a pattern. That is, if it weren't for MC's actions, the Xia nation is already dead meat. So, in essence, aren't they saying that without MC the Xia nation is nothing? Just a thought of mine on this subject. What are your opinions?
I have read a lot of racist novels like this. I really liked Chinese novels when I started, but as I ventured toward Urban, Racism was pushed to the extreme. To the point, I have to question how it could even be accepted by their own country. No matter what, Racism is bad. Sure, America is racist and many others. However, that doesn't mean it's fine to be racist. It's like just because others are eating craps, would you also eat crap? No! That is the point.
How about you try something from LGBTQ+ sections. They have a bit more drama, but there is hardly humiliations or such.
