  • If your story gains enough traction and gets noticed by an editor you can be contracted. That's what happened to me and although I make little money the biggest authors I heard can make like up too 100k a year. Crazy man...

    • I mean look at the most popular books on the site. Majority of them are in the system genre. It only makes sense people want a piece of the pie copying the popular norm.

    • Many writers dream right? Lol. I think many authors as myself have had the idea.
If I were to write my entire book which has over 12 volumes planned it would probably be best for me to keep it to the Naruto long-running adaptation as there are parts in the book where the action slows down for character development and just chapters of the characters hanging out and becoming friends. Although a season with episode could work too. Movies? Unless I want like 15 movies no lol

    • So there's a lot going on here, it's quite rare to get offered a choice on your contract, but the way to look at it is if you care enough about your book and or world enough to maybe publish one day yourself. If it's just a fun side hobby an exclusive contract isn't a terrible idea. Generally, they will get the rights to your world, you might want to re-read the contract to confirm. But this would mean any sequel, prequel or spin-off would have to be on that platform and I believe they can get others to write stories in your world if you won't. The 50% is for paying for chapters only I believe. Any gifts sent to you is 100% yours.
Lastly about the 200usd a month, this means if your books aren't super popular, to begin with, but you're still publishing on a good basis they will still pay you for it. It all depends on how much they tell you to write in your contract. They will look at your average chapter lengths and how often you upload to calculate a word count per month. It could be 20K, 40K. It depends really. Webnovel say they will do their best to promote your book but I can't speak on how well it will do.

The whole pay for each version of the contract is hard to pinpoint as it depends on how popular your book is but most likely you will be paid more for the exclusive one. Don't expect to be paid a crazy amount at the start or maybe ever. The top authors apparently make upwards of 100k a year but it's hard to tell tbh

      • It's a touchy subject, to say the least. I personally haven't seen in myself, but to be fair I haven't read that many books here. Propaganda against any country is bad, especially forcing down one's beliefs on their readers. Many people use books to escape the cruel world not to be reminded of it.

I used to get bot messages on Wattpad all the time, you could tell very quickly if they were fake by how it was too good to be true. A non-exclusive contract sounds way too good to be true. Most of the time if they really want to get ahold of you it's through emails or the rare case of Discord. I was offered a contract for my book a month ago which caught me off guard as my book only had like 5K reads and doesn't get much to any attention comment or power stone wise. If you do ever get an offer always speak to the editor about it. They are super helpful and my own gave me step by step guides on how to do the contract. Still waiting for the contract to process but am super excited to get started!
