This is honestly my first original work that I've written. The past five years of my life, I have only ever written countless fanfictions to feed our BL-loving hearts. However, my inspiration to write an original novel of my own was purely because of my own love for danmei novels like Mo Dao Zu Shi, Scum-Villain's Self Saving System, Transmigrating into a Mob Character to Rehabilitate the Villain Plan, and so on. Truthfully, transmigration BL novels coupled with the cultivation world has always been my favorite! I was originally planning to make this a transmigration novel as well; but, the more ideas I typed into my document, the more they began morphing into different ideas entirely!
And so, the characters I had originally made for a transmigrating-into-a-game BL novel had been altered and changed until they were unrecognizable from the original to fit the current story as of now--"A Touch of Irony". The title was actually something my editor and dear friend suggested to me, and because I am terrible at coming up with titles, I went with it! So, special thanks to my editor, Jin! Not to mention my other editor, Flow, who is very knowledgeable with xianxia/wuxia, he helped me choose names for the characters and clarified a lot of cultivation terms that I still, to this day, still struggle to understand. If it weren't for these two, this novel wouldn't have been able to see the light. So I sincerely thank them from the bottom of my heart!
