  • N0xiety Everyone is free to question logic in fiction. However, you should also remember that everyone is free to tolerate the non-existence of logic too in the same way.

Questioning logic in fiction that's not really based on logic is just being a party pooper to be honest. Most people don't read these things based on how believable they are anyway, but on how enjoyable they are. So these people party-pooping your attitude of questioning is to be expected. No one is exactly right in the end. It's a matter of perspective, and a matter of how much you're able to tolerate.

Maybe these stories aren't for you anyway. Maybe there's a story there somewhere that will fit your expectations. You just have to find them. These stories you're complaining about are certainly being enjoyed without any problems by a lot of people. It's impossible to write something that will be liked 100% by everyone anyway so why bother.

    • DaoistOCReader I already use this. The inconvenience here is that you have to add each chapter to your reading list. It works but it's not exactly an elegant solution as opposed to having TTS built-in.

Also, I'm not exactly sure about this, but I think most authors and Qidian wouldn't be happy about epubs being distributed because it takes away from their potential revenue. Thats's why this feature would be really great since it'll prevent some people from downloading epubs just for TTS using their book readers.

@Qidian promised TTS before the year ends (assuming the sources from above are real), so I'm still hopeful regarding this.

      • Going one step further, liking and disliking should be an earned privilege don't you think? Because if anyone can like or dislike, it's as easy as creating new troll accounts to down-vote someone else. It's also easier to gang up on people. There's hardly any accountability for your actions. That's why I think liking and disliking privilege should be earned first, which can also be lost and regained. Or would that be exaggerating already?

        • This is truly interesting. I think I need to think up my own Daoist name soon then!

          • Sounds like a good idea to me. I recently just read straight consecutive comments from a user saying "FIRST", "SECOND', etc. all by himself, and was baffled by such childish and disruptive behavior.

Maybe @WEBNOVEL_OFFICIAL can take something from this idea and make a better solution to the problem?

            • Still waiting for TTS.. :(

@WEBNOVEL_OFFICIAL Can you guys remove the Voting splash screen if the user has already voted? It's just annoying when you've already voted, and you're greeted with that every time.

              • To be fair, your concerns are valid. I mean, just google-ing the word tells us that synopsis means:

                • a brief summary or general survey of something.
                • an outline of the plot of a book, play, movie, or episode of a television show.

While I still do believe that authors should have the freedom to express their novels creatively, going by definition it doesn't deserve to be called synopsis. Maybe preface or introduction would be a better term? But authors should still write a synopsis for the story, or the translators can do it for them. Or would that be a bad practice?

                • I don't know much about Mao Ni's other novels, but I came across this manhwa and was hooked!
I've also read the novel, but it had very few chapters translated. :( I hope this one goes live soon here.

                  • LeKernel Right now the only useful use for it is to earn spirit stones to skip ads. But I'm sure there'll be other uses for the spirit stones you earn in the future. It's a feature which has huge potential for monetization (i.e. advanced chapters, exclusive novels, "useless" member perks ala Discord, etc.)

                    • Meanwhile, I'm still waiting for TTS on the app versions! :P
Anyway, well done and thanks for listening to the community!

                    • While I find most of the ways to earn EXP okay, meaning they do promote discussion and interaction between users, I do find that reviews should be out of the equation since this would only promote a horde of badly written reviews. Going a step further, reviews should even be subject for approval if possible (although this would be debatable going by how prone this would be to abuse). @WEBNOVEL_OFFICIAL

                      • Leylin_Farlier That's true, but it DOES work. You just have to read while listening. After a while, you get used to how TTS pronounces some words. After that, you can seriously use TTS to "read" while taking a bath, driving, etc. It's very useful.
