BabyTanuki I feel the same lol. Even if my novel has already been 'roasted' or so they say, I'm still dropping by here every now and then to take a look at his reactions.

So, you're like the Gordon Ramsay of web novels? I didn't notice this thread fast enough. xD

Can anyone tell me what everyone thinks about when they write a novel? For example, romance, world building, character development, and so on.
How do people make such a strong beginning that hooks readers?
Or make dialogue that isn't boring and at times funny?

This probably is taking away the premise of these posts(-cough, cough- Roasting), but oh well.

Myumara LOL. I mean, I do keep going till at least 800 words cause I know editing will bump it up to probably 1,200. GarpDMon is correct. I just write what I enjoy.

I base my story arcs off of tabletop RPGing, so I just think about what story I would have enjoyed playing. I don't like the whole stats shown in writing though. I prefer it to be a gradual growth.

Can't say much about hooks and what not. I haven't been roasted yet, so have no idea if I did a decent job.

Anyway, I hope we get to see more of @l_ovecraft's reviews!

Hey @l_ovecraft , sorry if im bothering you, but would you mind posting your review of my book on the novel please? I think it would really help people contemplating whether to jump in or not to make a decision....the rating doesnt matter, the info does! Thank you! And thanks again for the roast, I find myself constantly analyzing my writing and striving to get better. Its all thanx to you!

@all Ok so I found a novel I am reading atm (The Hunger from Alma Katsu). So I wanted to inform you that this thread is On Hold for the time I am reading the novel. I am sorry, but I just wanted to talk about it so you guys donโ€™t think I dropped the thread.
