  • This may sound stupid, but I want to venture into Qidian...

Now that I have read most of the novels on Webnovel (not Master Rabbink, his chapters are long, longer than the train I ride) I want to finally venture into the world of Qidian. I have tried google translate, and like 90% I can't understand that crap. So I need help finding appropriate tags. I need to find out which novel tags are which. Even if I don't understand the whole novel, I think I can figure out the premise. Can someone find tags for modern day and OP protagonist?

There are look a few thousand novels that I could discover on Qidian that I haven't found on Webnovel.

How long till the ultimate translator is ready? I want to translate EVERYTHING!!!!

Woah there, please settle down and let us discuss this calmly. I've never been to Qidian nor do I know what is there or how many novels are there, but from the sounds of it, it might be a paradise of untapped potential. So does that mean only 10% or something is listed on Novelupdates? Or in other words, only the ones that have been translated or picked up to a certain degree?.

Huh, could you try to also find the Second Life tag? I hope someone can read and translate the hidden gems there, I sorely wish for The Overlord of Blood and Iron to be translated properly, it was dropped and was picked up by a translator who only releases a chapter every two weeks.

Rextraos I thought The Overlord of Blood and Iron was a Korean novel, maybe I'm braindead...
(I just checked) Nope, It's Korean. There are only Chinese novels on Qidian. Korean have really high piracy guards, they are really easy to read after google translation but the piracy is so hard to get through that you can't even find free novels in Korean.

Dontlookdown That is like a thousand hours of my life wasted... I have to study for GCSEs as well, so that idea is a no-go.

There are some decent translation sites:

          http://fanyi.youdao.com/

          https://fanyi.baidu.com/

But they are nothing compared to actually reading and comprehending the language itself. Translation is just the surface. True understanding can never be achieved by reading a translation.

true understanding? what a philosopher mindset....

as long as the story good & entertaining, I'm a happy fella. XD

I've heard Google Translate works really well for Korean since the language is so simple, whereas most Asian languages are extremely complicated. So you may want to try finding some Korean novels to read.

Rextraos I think it's like 1% of the novels, actually. There are literally tens of thousands of novels on Qidian.

idkmylifeisamess Yeah it's a Korean novel, then again most of the best novels and manga are Korean in my opinion. So Qidian doesn't have Korean novels there? Well, I guess I'm less interested in it now. So where are people finding the Korean novels to be able to translate them? Is there a website associated with Korean novels out there?

                    3 months later

Rextraos it is quite hard to find translated free korean webnovel.. if you can find one chances are they are discontinued. Copyright infringement, unable to buy the next chapter well for the good ones, etc. so far the best ones are published under Munpia but they are rarely completely translated.. if they get translated here it would be great but its really a pain to find so far I found one..so good luck..
