Hello.

I would like to discuss novels I think reached the top by using bots or fake accounts. Im using a throwaway acc for this because I dont want harassment. I looked at the top 110 novels looking for suspicious rankings. I excluded any books with a lot of chapters from my test. After reviewing the top 110 I think the below 2 novels were fake voted up. Also Im not saying the author did it. It could be a crazy fan?

    This week sits at Rank 85 with 364 votes so far. Does not have 10 ratings yet even though high rank. Almost all accounts that voted have Lone or Lonely at the beginning of the name and were made Sep 2018.

    2 weeks ago ranked #88 with 422 votes. It jumped into the top 100 almost instantly that week. I watched it.
    Last week ranked #82 with 554 votes.
    This week ranked #88 with 342 votes so far. Entire front page of voters is made up of accounts with very high votes and almost all made Sep 2018.

    lynerparel There is too many name with multiple Lone, but their Rank is not in Top 20 of voters (Usually bot will stay near main account vote). Nevertheless Edgarry picked it for front page which will explain the increase of the vote by a lot.

    The second one to my eagle Rabbink eyes... A bit confusing. Some lv 3 voters but there is also high level voters too. Not sure about this. Perhaps the limited number of voters compare to rank made it strange and there seems to be strange pattern but not sure.

    The easiest way to find bot is actually trough Reviews. Bot is usually used for 5 star reviews. However the way they write and author is the same if one checked carefully.

        MasterRabbink Makes sense. Well gaining popularity through that isn't really good in the long run. Well the way things are this will never disappear. Still I wonder what's worse a writer doing bot reviews or a fan doing bot reviews?

            Use bot to enter Top 100 and wait for real readers to vote while reducing the bot at that time. I see a growth in reader base after Top 100.

            However the key is your story must be very good. If it is just good, then it is better to just make a 150~300 chapters stories to practice first. At the same time, level the bot for that moment.

            Nevertheless this undermine other authors who write with effort. As an author everyone know writing a chapter will take 3~6 hours.

            Also the more important factor is actually front page. One day front page worth 30 days Top Rank. So go to Author Discord and ask Edgarry.

              It is definitely a way to advertise your novel but if its not good enough you will lose a lot of readers from the backlash. I have seen so many bot accounts here its scary mostly for extra stones though so its more understandable.

                Tibbles Most people with fake bots will surrender quickly. So for a real readers, you should avoid them. I rarely see which could continue for long.

                Most would see they didn't get a contract soon and quit. If you see people who got found out, most would stop. Quality first is the most important.

                The best method for a good author is go to Author Discord in Inkstone and ask (PMed the novel's link, hopefully with enough chapters, to) Edgarry (the Webnovel curator) to feature his/her novel on the front page (Trending Original) (If you are selected, you will get 3 days front page, worth 100 days on the Top 100 Ranking) (Botters will see they had to vote with many accounts for 3 months, but that is only worth a tiny bit compared to a single vote from Edgarry). However, you have to feel confident about your writing quality.

                If you get selected more often after that, you will see a contract soon. I believe Edgarry had a say in contract thing. So the fastest and easiest way to contract is in Discord actually.

                If you didn't get selected then write more to practice and make a better novel. Repeat.

                    Oh well. Gonna try to go on discord and ask Edgarry for a shot!

                        Ierrech Erm... In my eyes, the voters seem legit. The spread of voters is nice. From the top, there is only two with Lv 2. Other than that, nothing wrong with the novel voters.

                        Update: It seems the reviews showed it. Many 5 star Lv 2 reviewers when the novel started.

                            MasterRabbink Multiple accounts had names similar to "Chu" and "Ankit" when it started out for the voting. The reviews are really suspicious... It had almost 20 reviews within a couple of days...

                                        If you found one of his posts from the search bar, there should be little go button on it ( towards the right ). After you click it, you will see his post at the center of the screen. There, right click on his nick and you should see a send message option. Use it.
