I started checking the novels, it seems that those that are in the top 100 are going premium and that is a shame. Also can you imagine telling someone that you pay over US$100 for this, they will laugh at you. Qidan should check out other sites in terms of cost - I looked at netflix annual fees - from a basic US$100 to premium US$150. Plus they retain a lot of subscriptions due to their service and cost. I think that is doable for the power reader as a yearly fee but the HUMONGOUS RIP OFF, is not acceptable. I also notice that for those that require premium there is indication of reduced comments.

Qidan get your act together. I really do not want to leave this site but I am not willing to pay those astronomical fees for incomplete books/webnovels. I do not even spend that amount on books for the year on a regular basis. Give us good justification for those costs. Granted the reader has a choice to come to this site, but the reader also has a choice to leave and discourage other people from coming here as well due to this very unfriendly feature. Who will be the bigger loser then?

It is, CKtalon made a topic about it. The authors went to the webnovel staff and pressured them because they thought the premium system worked like in China, first hundred chapters free and then all locked. Then the webnovel stuff stopped unlocking the chapters daily and CKtalon made a topic, then it got deleted I believe.

same for me i bought several packages of SS cause i wanted to read a little faster but once my current set of ss are out i will be gone. cause im not planning of paying large amounts of money for each story

Garlic_Sauce I never check forums as I just want to read and mind my own business. But it got me thinking recently why all the free chapters that I know it’s free to read that I saved for months turned out either I watch the ad or pay SS. Big example is “Gourment Supplier” and now mostly all the novels. This is being ridiculous and such a money grabber. I just thought it was only me who noticed it good thing I checked the forums and saw your feedback. oh well once I’m done with “WOS, LOTF and GW” im leaving this shit hole. I rather Support wuxiaworld and be a patron.

Unfortunately its the whole business model thats wrong and they would lose too much face if they were to change it now so its not gonna happen.

SS is a wonderful idea and it could functional as a money-exchangeable forum currency if not for the free SS, or they could of both have existed individually for different purposes.(BTW I'm willing to pitch in my ideas about these for a price!)

Problem is while novels are entertaining their value is inherently less than movies and TV-shows, yet they still cost to us(the consumers) way more than those things. Its not even logical and honestly the prices borderline extortion.

Thats why I said the model was wrong, right now they're counting on the 0.01% of the users who pay big bucks to give wind to this broken ship so it could continue sailing; all the while ignoring the xx% who would be willing to pitch in at moderate/lower amounts. Which by to way right now would not be worth it by any means, because it would almost literally get you nothing.

Dontlookdown I disagree with you there, as on a daily basis I do earn less than 22 SS's. You have to consider the membership level as well for the person, I'm level 4. I have tried using both power and energy stones at the same time the result - I only got SS for the power stones - 5. I'll admit not understanding how to use energy stones well because when I go a novel the request is usually for a power stone and not energy. It is just recently I tried using a energy and I did not see any additional ss added even though it messaged that it was a success, its power stone only.

In addition, I believe that you lose SS after awhile if there is no indication of use. If, you earn 5 points for each power stone and energy stone used, I can understand, but that does not happen at all. Its 5ss alone extra, that has been my experience so far + the daily log in which is usually between 6-13 SS. I do not ever recall earning more than 20 ss daily.

Other - I really hope that Qidan considers the complaints of the readers in addressing this unpleasant issue and come up with a more favorable solution. As earlier stated I do not think they will lose if they go with an annual rate of approximately US$150, as a matter of fact they are likely to earn more this way as they can retain the existing customers and gain new ones.

qidian seriously needs to change their business model otherwise they will will end up disappearing from international webnovel business. It’s hard to understand their reasoning as they started strong. First everything was free, then they added ss stones with releasing one episode per day for free readers which I believe still allowed qidian to grow their customer number. And now the latest episode, no unlocking unless you earn ss stone.

It feels like qidian doesn’t have any non-Chinese person as decision maker in the company. They either don’t know or completerely ignore how international marketing work, how they grow, how they make money. Facebook, google, amazon, netflix, all have free service and/or monthly or yearly subscriptions. Make customers pay small amount or nothing to get service but make customers happy. And companies who tries to suck money from customers without any moral regard are bound to stay small or disappear. As is, Qidian will only give back the customer they received to other competitors which eventually will become much bigger/better compared to this site.

Fyi guys, the cheapest package for getting spirit stones isn't the largest one, its the 400+60 one. Since (2500+750)/45.99=70.67, but (400+60)/6.49=70.88. Therefore you get more spirit stones per pound by buying the 400+60 package. Seems dodgy since if you were to remove the bonus stones it would be cheaper per stone to buy 50 than 2500 as well. Its obviously just made to look like you get a better deal if you spend more when you just don't.
