When I first got into webnovel there were tons of translated novels that I got into but somehow I was disappointed because the story plot keeps on repeating. Lead gets into trouble then gots stronger to faceslap ppl who wronged him/her. Then another trouble comes and still the same faceslap plot. Don't you get tired as well? The worst part is that you get to spend spirit stones on them but they end up 2000+ chapters. It's just a never ending story. I'm sad.

Your opinion is understandable. Certainly, if you grew up reading physical copies of Western fantasy novels.
Assuming 1500 words per chapter, the Lords of the Rings Trilogy is only 303 chapters. Some Chinese webnovels are ten times that. The whole Game of Thrones: A Song of Ice and Fire would add up to 1160 chapters so far.

Unfortunately most of the webnovels are very long if you want a faster pay off.

My suggestion to look for more western fantasy books as they are usually shorter and more digestible.
Or keep reading a webnovel until a major arc is finished, put it away and come back later.

Dawsonrose Been there and 6 months ago I would agree with you, that was before I picked up Tales of Herding Gods. Probably a bit biased, but in my opinion ToHG is currently the best Eastern Fantasy novel on this site and that is in spite of the MC face-slapping(occasionally), MC's too dense to realize he has a harem(kinda), MC is the (2nd) best at almost everything, beauty that could topple countries(lol) and I'm sure there are even more cliche tropes. All in all, a lot of Chinese novels have a problem with creativity but there are some nuggets out there that take the tropes and make them work, ToHG being my favorite. I recommend you read it, at least the first 20 chapters to get a feel for what the novel is like and if you like it by then, you're gonna love it by chapter 40.

Honestly one of the main reasons I read webnovels is precisely because they're long. At this point, I consider something of the length of the Hunger Games trilogy roughly equivalent to a short story. Longer books have a lot more room for world building and character growth. Also, if I like a book, I don't want it to randomly end. A lot of western novels are just the story of a small event, or a lot of things are not well elaborated, and much of the past and future is left open since there just isn't enough room to fit it all. I like to dive into the world of the book, which is hard to do if I can read the whole thing in a short few hours. Of course, if the book is just bad and repetitive, then it's not worth reading anyway, and I wouldn't read it regardless of if it was long or short.

The other advantage is that if you find a book that you actually like, you can keep reading it for a while. There's a lot of lower quality novels though, so it's not always easy.

Anyway, maybe the books you've been reading recently just haven't really been all that good, or maybe you got burned out from binging a book since they're meant to be read 2-3 chapters a day, not all at once.

If you're into cultivation novels at all, maybe give Forty Millenniums of Cultivation a shot.

EDIT: the number of books I've dropped is at least 10x higher than the ones I'm currently reading, so I do get your point though. At some point, I just lost interest in them.

The Experimental Log of the Crazy Lich is long but it is absolutely not repetitive at all. Even though the story seems very, very generic at first glance, once you actually start reading it you will find that it is an amazing story unlike any other. It definitely doesn't follow the typical model. It is around 900 chapters and is also complete in the raws, so you know what you are getting.

That's why you first need to read reviews (on novelupdates), especially from people whose read most of chapters or better from those who read novel RAWS so you know a general development instead of wasting/waiting until TL catches up and you found out that novel doesn't improve/introduces with fillers/topics/plot/characters personality/characters development/... you don't like.

There is quite a lot novels which're good at start, but later around 200-500 ish ch are going bad due things you don't like.
Thought is not full proof, you're able to filter some away.

Dawsonrose there's this novel that has around 11k raw chapters already. Even with 3x a day translation, the TLs and EDs won't catch up. It's a black belly miss scenario, I didn't bother reading it.

                Hello my friend!

You can give this a try as it's not a pure romance novel. :)
It's a fictional story and is ongoing.
It's an all in one novel dealing with mythical creatures. With right amount of mystery, suspense, adventure and romance.
Please do give it a read and maybe a review will help me a lot! This is my first novel and I expect honest reviews from you all! :)
