What do you think of FL going around seducing girls? It kinda feels NTR-ish and kinda not. Especially when the story is a harem.

This is a cultivation story, to start with. MC transmigrated into predecessor's body. Story has future knowledge elements involved as well. The story is building to a harem, even though MC is only used to monogamy.

Characters involved - MC: Main Character, FL: Female Character, FL2: 2nd Female Character

MC has one girl who he loves with all his heart, but she currently hasn't appeared in story yet. FL is the Dao Companion of MC's predecessor who was kinda ignored by him. Since he thinks FL is OK as a girl, he helps her out with various stuff and gets her affection + H-Scene.

MC himself hasn't quite fallen for FL yet, but he thinks he will, sometime soon (MC has zero idea how harems can work in reality, he knows how jealousy works well enough). He doesn't want to leave FL alone because he knows how that will roll (future knowledge) + they are Dao Companions due to his predecessor's karma, so he needs to bear it for the sin of possessing his body and soul.

FL herself is pretty talented and focusing on dual cultivation, the kinda girl who oozes seduction. Being ignored by MC's predecessor was detrimental to her cultivation rather than simply self-esteem. She cares enough about loyalty to not go for men, so she gets into a fuck-buddy lesbian relationship with FL2, a girl. After MC actually paid attention to her and banged her, her affection bar for MC rose from 1/10-10/10.

FL2 was more or less FL's les fuck buddy, but she fell in love with FL (FL has dual cultivation build, it works on both genders). Pure love of lilies type. FL2 wants to take FL away from her neglectful Dao Companion somehow. FL doesn't really reciprocate her feelings. MC is kinda offended at FL going around seducing girls, but he doesn't really want to poke his nose into it. (She did it because predecessor ignored her, so he can't blame her.)

Plot: FL wants FL2 to join MC's harem so that their relationship can be officialized + threesomes.
FL2 doesn't really want to do that.
MC doesn't really want to do that.

Well, I'll think of a way to further the plot. The question is still: what do you think of FL going around seducing girls? It kinda feels NTR-ish and kinda not.

Lonely_Sky_Dream Oh I could, but I think I can write male leads better. I just wanted to give more depth to the character of a 'seductive beauty' female lead. Like, they fall for MC and their seduction skills aren't used at all, except for attracting arrogant young masters.

I wanted to ask if it feels too NTR-ish, so that I can cut that plotpoint out ruthlessly and avoid 1-star reviews before they fall.

      Bit to clear it up a bit: So we have Male Lead that kinda feel obliged to take care of FL1 and satisfy her carnal desires. FL1 was in gay relationship with FL2 but when her man started to pay her some attention she jumped ship. Probably because she was feeling a bit guilty she wanted to take FL2 with her to start a big happy family with ML.
      However the true love of ML is not actually either FL1 or FL2. So probably we will have development like
      ML: “Well, FL2 is cute and she is now ok with being in polyamourous relationship so even if I feel a bit disturbed I guess it is fine to take her in”
      FL1 and FL2: “ We are ok to be the pretty vases by the ML side”
      A goddess with fair skin, big boobs, long black hair, perfect face and seductive gaze appears.
      ML: “This is my true love! I will make her the queen of my harem(yep, he now used to the idea of all pretty girls opening legs for him)”
      This is the problem this harems: once the girl gets seduced she loses all of her individuality and is no longer interesting or needed in the story.
      What do you intend to do with FL1 and FL2 when the next girl appears? I can somewhat understand how FL2 may decide to join the bedroom fun but FL3,4,5... would need to be either retarded or nymphomaniacs in order to continue the trend. Will leave the true female lead out of it since she will probably have very special circumstances.
      Well, it may be interesting if FL1 and FL2 baclstabed ML when he brings in a few more girls for example 🤔 something among the lines of FL1 stole half of the ML cultivation as a punishment for being too frivolous? Seeing him powerless half of the rest of the harem leave him and only the girls that truly care for him help him to get back to the top.

      I got a bit distracted but to answer your question: at least for me there will be no ntr problem ;)

        Well, most things won't go according to what you are predicting since there are basically only two main female leads that MC loves (or believes he can fall in love with): FL1 and the character MC loves.
        Sexual encounters with other girls due to various circumstances are there (like FL2) but they aren't really 'lover' material for MC.

        MC can't really think of having more girls added because while he has no idea how true love can have multiple women selflessly devote themselves to one man, he is pretty confident of his knowledge of how jealousy can screw up everything (Fun Fact: He read one story about backstabbing consorts and concubines warring in the harem and forever gave up on the possibility of the existence of a functioning harem in general and the entire CN romance genre as a whole).

        The question is that FL1 seduces some girls for dual cultivation (female & female is A-OK!) and MC can't really stop her because, well, it is her cultivation and getting in the way of her advancement would be the worst. FL1 can get the backstabbing but yeah, the entire point is that she does the girls for her cultivation advancement and she likes doing girls, so...

            Dudu_the_3rd To clarify, MC is more-or-less OK with FL1 doing other girls (cultivation, cultivation) but he doesn't want her to go and fall in love.
            FL2 got done by FL1 AND fell in love with her, so it is kinda annoying for MC (because while FL1 doesn't reciprocate FL2's feelings, FL2 is earnestly going to chase FL1 despite that and act lovey-dovey BEFORE HIM)...

                Well, with things put this way I can confidently say that either ML will be disliked by the readers for letting her do whatever she likes (even if in the name of cultivation) or FL will be for being unfaithful and easy(even if it is with other girls).
                You could proceed with this but be very mindful how you present each situation. That sort of thing can really be a deal breaker for any reader.
                Based only on this point the character will get a lot of hate but if you include extra character traits and put them in suitable situations it is possible to pull it off. Like present her point - why is she so insistent on having the extra partners? Is it based on some sort of trauma? How much she cares for anyone aside ML? If her way of thinking is warped you should make ML helps her realize it.

                    I think with how you have written the story so far and described the FL she wouldn't be sleeping around with other women and dual cultivating with them unless the MC knows about it and approves it. I'm just confused on why she would be going around dual cultivating with other women when she can just do it with the MC. And about it being NTR-ish or not I believed that with the MC's system him being able to keep women would have been a part of it so the FL wouldn't stray from him

                      Also, new question, is giving MC a unisex appeal advisable (Like FL)?
                      In the last chapters, I put more focus on describing the MC's awesome appearance than the new girl.
