What are books that you know that had a really promising plot but the author didn't live up to your expectations and why?
One of my favorite books that went sour was 99th Divorce after the You know what and the fact that SQ was just too naive even after being given a second chance at life. But even before that, I just became less interested in tje story as it became too repetitive
Disappointing books
Just about every cultivation novel ever written...
Canthink_ im numb to system novels unless they are comedies. Hmmm anything with dragons I can't take seriously hmmm man in the ring books.... Pretty much any worn out trope in pulp fantasy

damn near every novel on this website. I get more entertainment from the forums here than i have from QI's novels lately.
Enough with the genius amongst geniuses MCs, the socially dysfunctional naive idiot MC, the MC that acts badass vs bad guys but becomes a bumbling, jibbering potato whenever he interacts with the opposite gender, the MCs that do stupid shit and wonder why bad things happen to them in response.
Gimme a damn average guy who has occasional sparks of genius, messes up once in a while and learns from it with consequences that dont equate to entire clans instantly wanting to kill him off just cause he told some random clan patriarch's son's son's son's son's son's dog to "F**K OFF!" Gimme a guy that hasn't brown-nosed fate and gets all the shit he needs in a timely manner to overcome whatever current obstacle hes facing. Gimme a guy who actually fails at things. Gimme a guy who doesnt have all the damn answers already. -_- sigh im bitter ;p
Peaches. Want a comedy?
Peaches. A Slackers Guide to Immortality. I started writing it as the cure for my disgust with cultivation novels. Its funny as hell
Peaches I got a good reads for you. Tales of Herding Gods, Reverend Insanity, The King's Avatar, Release that Witch, Gourmet Food Supplier(MC is a narricist, a severe one with very low EQ), The Trafford Trading Club, and Carefree Path of Dreams(currently no chapter release). These are my favorite.
lazyDaoist I too expected a lot from 99 divorce. But I dropped it halfway because of the plot development.

insipired by reverend insanity, though it's not that good, but it resembles it.
SouthToiletWizard haha i feel you but try Kingdom's bloodline . Its refreshing . No system or cultivation . No idiot but arrogant villains

Peaches well the MC in Kingdom's bloodline is decent tho . He is cautious , observing first before making a decision , even tho he is smart but the villains are equally smart not your typical idiot but arrogant antagonist so its interesting to read . A lot of plots and political schemming . Worth it to try
SouthToiletWizard exactly system novels became toooooooooooo overused and recycled
SusshiRoll I know Gourmet food supplier, release the witch and the king's avatar but that's about it
stupid_villain thx. i added it to my library
