Why is this website allowing Shadow Hack to manipulate the voting system?
It isn't manipulation, it is getting this many stones because they are giving a basic incentive to vote for them.

If any novel said this whilst no other said this, I would vote for it even if I didn't like the novel at all that much. Why? Because more chapters is always a good thing.
I wish Reverend Insanity Ultimate/Strongest System, LOHP, and Way of the Devil offered bonuses for power stones and then I'd vote for them.

in his suicide prank video (not the Japan one), I saw lots of teenagers in the video, maybe they are his target audience. they have a lot of time to watch every video he makes , make upvote and leave comments to make the video more popular

Gibster I have the same opinion. Of course, I can't prove it, but I am guessing its marketing induced manipulation. Even before the story started, it already attracted a lot of attention during voting, so I don't think it is rigged, but the sudden increase in the number of power stones is really something fishy. Just check the previous weeks' ranking results. Of course people will argue a lot of members leveled up to lvl 4. But the supposed level 4 spike in power stones already happened twice, and ATM, only 2 power stones are the limit. Sorry, although the rankings is arguably correct except during sudden spikes of votes, I personally don't believe the # of power stones in circulation shown on the ranking board. Especially the multiple sudden and drastic increase in number. Just compare the number of power stones on ranking board and the number of energy stones on voting board. There should be more energy stones in circulation, but that could have been offset by some people not voting despite of the free ss because of the current choices of novels, but still they should be around equal. Compare the number of stones and people will see why some people, like myself, feel there is manipulation. Does qidian even have that high number of active members? I try to stay away with novel hosting politics, but qidian is not really unknown for manipulation.

It's also more than that, the numbers are more than twice the previous top ranking story which is a massive oddity, you're saying 2x the number of people read it than the 2nd best which is understandable if one has a massive quality difference between the 2 but it looks the opposite, LOHP has a larger release library and better quality than Shadow Hack. Sure, there is accounting for taste variance but not to this extent.
On a more interesting note, the reply system on Shadow Hack is also badly bugged, you hit reply, it puts the name of the guy you replied to but then puts in your own text. Wonder if that is a side effect of whatever hack they were using to manipulate the votes. Don't take my word for it, go to their reviews and reply to anyone. You'll see it puts his name but your text in your reply.

It's offering a 'more chapters translated per week for votes' incentive.
It's new.
It's a bit different from 'standard' cultivation novels (although most of the differences are really just window dressing if you bother to actually think about it).
It's a 'lowest common denominator' type novel that can appeal to a lot of people even if it's not many people's actual favorite.
It'll almost certainly drop in the ranking in the not too distant future. It's one of the pitfalls of this type of ranking system.
Ebu8b The only Er Gen novel that is actually being translated by Qidian on this site hovers around the 60s in the power ranking. I think that the reason for some of the less polished stories being rated higher is because of a combo of Qidian's marketing and a large portion of the audience suffering from chuunibyou syndrome. I think Qidian is taking a lot of pages from the manga industry's playbook in pushing shounen style stories because they know there is a large market for them. Case and point, most of the stories in the top of the power rankings are either harems or gamer element stories.

Trailblazer Lol did you just seriously say 'LOHP has better quality than Shadow Hack'? I have no idea how you can actually come up with such a critique. They are pretty similar in quality and both are not worth my time. But it's not strange for people who find LOHP worth their time to also find SH worth their time. Thus they somehow can become the top 2 novels...
Tertium I agree with your choice of novel. It's one of the better novels on the site but can't get enough votes. Translation quality is high, Word flow and story are easily some of the best I've seen from Chinese authors, and it's not some cheap plastic story that is forcing a singular view on you (basically telling you that you should be amazed about something instead of showing you why you should be amazed).
Superstars of Tomorrow!!! Would be nice if it got somewhere in the top 10 and stayed there. Not saying it should be in the number 1 spot, but somewhere between 3~10 would be perfect.
