Chryiss I agree with you
The end of Webnovel and the start of Wattpad 2
RenuKakkar Lol... Sometimes when I read them, I do wish things are like that in really life where I can get married to one of th the CEOs And please most of this stories only focus on Asian characters and imaginary countries like Country C, Country A and so on. What happened to the real countries on Earth. C'mon, no one will penalize you if you use a real country from around the globe...
LIght_Novel_San Totally sick
Resplendently except for country c. :-P
The10thCrow If this happen, I think I need to switch to another websites. We're at endgame now!
DsNtRecognizeMtTai Which site? Lol
Resplendently I'm also one of the authors who use imaginary countries in my novel. Personal experience... it's a hassle to google the name/layout/looks of the places within our country haha. I mean, if my setting is in a hotel, (since I'm someone who rarely goes out and has little knowledge of place in my own city), it's a hassle to google up a place suitable. I'm also lazy to research how it is used, what are the rules there. Plus it's a bother once someone who really knows the place protested saying it's not matching up. So just make up something, and for complete convenience, go the extra mile and invent the whole setting! XD

Resplendently Same, and using single letters as names of countries and cities are a mild pet peeve of mine in stories. It messes up the world building and immersion experience for me...

Hmm, but I like using Wattpad because they have html. BTS fiction is kind of taking over that place too. It's like onion weeds that sneak up on you (nb:I like onion weeds, they can be pretty, hardy and cool) . My LGBT stories have been moderately doing okay there, although still considered undiscovered.
I know a lot of fantasy writers there have read counts into the thousands and millions. One of them is about to go into the paid model. She definitely doesn't write chick-flick type of stories. She's a fully fledged epic fantasy writer. Another fellow writer has had his gunslinging action story go paid. He's really popular. There are a few fantasy-action stories, non romantic, that are popular at that site just as much as there are chick-flick type stories.
So, when you say that Webnovel is becoming a Wattpad2, I actually see this as a compliment. It means that WN is considering itself a contender with a western giant when it comes to online story sharing. They are bracing an emerging market with longevity in mind.
Anyway. Trends come and go. Even if it's CEO Romances today, another trend will follow to take its place later on. Who knows? We could revert to a trend where Spaghetti Westerns are a rage and where the silent talking, fast shooting anti-heroes are popular again.
ohhh fuck i didnt know the girls were more than us!! y were right time to invite more friends.
Veronica8 Agreed. There are many interesting stories with unique and new plot but most of the readers always chase for the popular one. It never cross their mind to look for the unpopular one that is a top-notch quality. Based on my observation females are more active in supporting and voting in their favorite books that's why the books they'd read are often in the highest rank.
it's only because some of you are too lazy to use powerstones. girls are just more active. but guys are more generous. while some of the girls use free ss to gift fl novels, i noticed most gifts to ml novels are premium ss. it's pretty balanced in my opinion.
The10thCrow idiot... ml novels earns a lot. i bet more than fl novels. especially with the originals. male lead novel authors earn more and consistently than fl novels.
The10thCrow and the reason why fl novels are on the rankings... tbh, i don't want to vote powerstones for ml novels because i know how many ss are needed each chapter-- either double or triple of a normal fl novel. when an ml novel is pushed to the top rankings, we all know the faster it is to be a premium.
DsNtRecognizeMtTai what ever it takes
Reinesse This alone proves your ignorance of the gravity of the matter. You didn't even bother to read some of the other comments before replying. Yeah no im not gonna reply to the same question twice.
The majority of sites likes, those that cater to fiction consumers, always begin that way and then the crazy rapey vibe stories begin to appear. I understand you're upset, I am too. I'm new to the site but it kind of bugs me that most of the works featured on like ads and stuff are the female oriented cliche shoujo manga stories literally ripped from old shoujo mangas.
It would be great to see more titles that didn't all have the same premise of the demoralizing weak female protagonist only gets by because ML is a bad boy sk everything is gonna be great again. It sucks. But we have to face reality.
Better novels will be shucked for these shoddy pieces because people like staying in their comfort zone, even if it is a sexist, egotistical and rape romanticizing one. If we want this to stop, then either we get a new site or we try searhing for more low key good artist that aren't at the top but could be there if in plot alone.
Hard thing to do but it's kinda a way...
