Guess I’m one of those ‘abnormal’ females who actually has their screen set to ‘male’ because she’s tired of all the ceo romances.. 😅 I still like them no doubt—I have a really wide range of genres I like—but maybe the problem is with the automatic gender split Webnovel has in place (male and female, like really?). Whether the lead is FL or ML, it doesn’t matter so much to me as long as they’re good and the story is compelling.

But in speaking of ‘originality,’ I’ve seen plenty on both sides with the same old storyline, namely cultivation/litrpg for male and romance for female. This wouldn’t be bad, but it amazes me how similar a broad plot can be written so many times. Like, isn’t there so many ways to fall in love? Why is it always the same? Same with cultivating and leveling up... Meh whatever. I still haven’t tried out all the books yet, so that’s a testament to the amount of content available which is good.

    The10thCrow I do agree that those over-bearing MLs are rather annoying but just because a novel has one doesn't mean that all of it's aspects are bad, there are still the good aspects and plenty of interesting books out there that are still interesting even if they have one of them MLs and as you said it, used to be male oriented majority so obviously there will be times where it'll be female oriented majority, things will just be alternating. It doesn't always have to be male oriented majority and things will be always alternating and changing, trying to reach an equilibrium, going back and forth.

    Also, please respect those novels because although you may not like them does not mean other people do not like them, just see their power rankings, (although I do admit that they aren't the best morally and realistically especially the r** ones) but that doesn't mean that they deserve to be called sht and stupid.

    My point is to respect those novels because translators, editors and writers have put effort into them, giving constructive criticism is understandable and helpful but it really hurts when someone is just plain insulting your hard work, constructive criticism is different from plain disrespect and rudeness.

    In addition, novels are the result of the writer's imagination and everyone thinks of stuff with different opinions, with writers thinking up of different plot lines which some may like and some dislike.

    Plus just because it's female oriented doesn't mean that males can't read them, just like how females can read male oriented novels such as Douluo Dalu and Coiling Dragon (they do coz I'm female and I really like them)

        You misunderstood. I am saying females are more likely to look for Originals (because they want more romance materials). That's why they push these original harder.
        Males on the other Hand (my speculation) are mostly satisfied with the translated ones and might neglect Originals (either Male or female oriented.
        Because of this imbalance in commitment and demand for originals, female oriented book gained more popularity in the Rankings.
        I mean, I think assume that the Portion of male Readers is higher than female, so why are the Rankings still balanced otherwise?

But some of those novels with that kind of ML are still good but I keep on seeing MLs who meets the FL once and then suddenly starts stalking or harassing them🤦‍♀️, like... NO MEANS NO, DO YOU REALLY NEED THEM TO REPEAT IT 100 TIMES!!! Though, just because a novel has that kinda ML doesn't mean that it's a bad novel overall, btw people should not learn from such MLs, if you didn't know, such actions of stalking and harassment can get you into legal trouble🤦‍♀️😓.

The world doesn’t go ur way, it goes in the majorities’ way, it’s not like all female oriented books are bad (although many are really similar but there are good ones out there) and please don’t think a book is bad just because it’s female oriented 🤦‍♀️ Just because things aren’t going the way you would’ve liked it doesn’t mean you should hate them and although there are plenty of female oriented books, webnovel/qidian as a company wouldn’t be as stupid as to decrease male oriented books too much of an extent in case of backfire and such🤦‍♀️ They will at least be trying to make them more or less equal, but if you aren’t convinced yet then I guess... you can just do what you want and I’ll do what I want🤷‍♀️

                            Webnovel releases one male-lead and one female-lead per week. Male-lead books already have an advantage over the female-lead books, having been the majority of translated works from the beginning. I don't know what you're complaining about as there has been no decrease in the number of books being released "for guys," and if you're complaining about a decrease in quality, don't blame that on the females and on what they read. Blame it on management and the translators and editors. It's not like the female-lead books are top quality anyway.

                            The influx of females here made the market expand. It didn't limit your choices, it's just that your taste is not the taste of the majority anymore. The books that you read are still there. If they ever disappear, then it would be because those kinds of books don't get enough suppport, and that would not be the fault of the females but the fault of supposed fans who didn't show their support.

                            Take the translator of LOHP and The Beautiful Time With You: he posted on TBTWY that he would be focusing more on LOHP because that's what pays the bills for him. So I don't know what you're on about that translators will be neglecting "male-oriented" books just because there are now more "female-oriented" books and more females here. If a story is good and people support it, translators won't drop it in favor of something else (there could be other reasons for dropping but certainly not what you were implying).

                            Basically, money speaks, and if you're really that concerned, then open your wallet and let it speak. It's not as simple as supply and demand. As long as there is a market, no matter whether it's niche or mainstream, minority or majority, someone will serve it. And qidian will not be foolish enough to get rid of the male market as long as it is profitable. That's the reality of life. Stop blaming the females. It's funny because at the same time you say it does not matter if a female reads a male-oriented book. Basically you want males to be alone in this.                                       Demonslayer007 Really.... I'm getting tired of reading female oriented books coz to me, the storyline are all the same. Except for one I can across recently "the numbers that brought our fate together". Some male oriented books still have some twist and turns in it on like the female's own which just comprises of "face slapping" and " scheming"... But some male oriented books can be boring sometimes, so I just hope they can keep things in check where both can be supplied when needed.
