Nah I think you’re overthinking it a little... Though I see where you’re coming from. Even Translated Female CNs have the highest count of Stones/Views. Which is unbelievable. But that’s because, let’s admit it, a lot of trash Novels out there get pick up so by process of elimination it’ll get high ratings.
As for the Originals, I think it partly has to do with the promotion WN gives. I think it’s still to soon to judge and decide this is becoming like Wattpad lol. There’s still stories out there’s that give it good competition.
P.S I completely agree with you that female MC novels are copy/paste and end up with the guy who abandon them or impregnated them lol. I’ve seen it too many times to count, just reading the summary makes me say: ‘Oh boy, I know where this is going...’ lol. But not all novels are like that I’d like to think
I also have this impression, that it displeases some people is perfectly normal, it gives us the impression of being misogynistic when it's more realistic than anything else.
Actually, yesterday, I moved on to the dark side of the force by writing a story with a woman CEO as MC. Please forgive me. I'm doing this to confirm if having special tags, a name with CEO in it and a whole bunch of other clichés in this kind of story is really what makes it popular.

Resplendently Yes, you can use real countries. But I think using City A or Country B does not restrict you to a particular country. Even I am using City A and City B. I have done away with surnames. So that the religion or area of the character is not typecaste. The story can stand for any country, any region or any religion/ no religion even.

However, if you are gonna blame women for everything wrong that you think is happening on this site, then you really should just leave (like you were threatening to do) coz even if you claim to have "built this playground" (you made me laugh there) whether you (or anyone) likes it or not, the women are here, and they are here to stay. The mere presence of someone like you, who likes to cry foul over just the mere presence of the opposite sex, is the real stain here. Guess what? You don't own Qidian or their stories and you don't get to say they should only translate male-oriented stories. If we go by your liking then it would mean having a minority of female oriented books. Not everything is black and white, there's something called grey in this world, there doesn't have to have a winner in this, reach an equilibrium. At this point, your point is not even that there are more female oriented books but that you want there to be more male oriented books than female ones. Also you're saying that males made this 'playground' so females shouldn't use it, but female writers have contributed as well, just like how just because Ada Lovelace laid down the foundations of computer algorithm, it doesn't mean that Alan Turing and all the other inventors who contributed to the makings and development of computers shouldn't get any credit and only one gender can use computers.
To be honest, I think the problem comes more from the fact that some people don't want to be interested in other books styles. Just because the story tells a love story doesn't mean that there won't be action, betrayal, or that it won't be in a Sci-Fi or Fantasy universe. Certainly we see more story oriented towards realism and telling the same things, than clearly original things, but the fact is that if there is more female readers, there is nothing we can do about it, as I said earlier, the second problem comes from the fact that more than 3/4 of people don't prefer to leave their comfort zone and read something new. Both women and men. But yes, the fact that love stories have been in the top 20 for several months is a somewhat disturbing fact. It means that the number of women on the site is at least three times higher than the number of men, or we have to wonder about the quality of our stories.

Also new flash everyone, FL novels only take up half of the top 20 in both Translations and Originals. Out of curiosity, I actually counted, so now this debate seems kinda silly.
Although, two in Originals were fanfics, but they looked more male audience based to me/or counted as neutral. I suppose one could say in Originals, FL novels have the slight upper hand, but foe Translations, looking at the top five alone, it’s literally:

Now if you look at it, it's like:

In this top 20, there are 13 FL stories, which represents 65%. Which is both "little" and "a lot". It's a reality, the book market has always worked much better for women, even in 1800 with Hugo and Balzac, so it doesn't surprise me more than that and I won't complain more than that either. However, it is not surprising that people, especially guys, are upset about this situation either.
Then, as for the top power ranking, it doesn't mean much to me, I've seen a lot of stories being top of the lists here, on Wattpad or even Scribay being of an awful quality both on the characters, the universe and the dialogues. Unfortunately this kind of story pleases because they are full of clichés and flatter the ego of its readers and that's what people are looking for, to dream, which is normal.

True, I split the translations and originals (currently on app and have yet to figure out how to get All/Both on it unlike computer version) but I will say that the originals skew the Fl/ML proportion. I just tend to find that girls really like to write mushy stuff but guys aren’t always bothered to write much themselves based on a whim. At the very least, though I think I’m thinking of a similar thread topic as this one, Webnovel isn’t catering to just FL stories. Translations-wise it’s even. It’s due to the quantity and popularity of romance which make FLs edge out in Originals.
The other point I was trying to make though, was rather than just focusing on the top 20, I think votes on ML stories are more spread out. Considering most of the FL novels are CEO romances of some sort, the ML novels tend to encompass more genres like sci-fi, video game, magical realism, war, sports, fantasy, etc. Thus, stones might not be aggregated on a handful of top ML novels as much as FL ones are. Let’s be real, there’s a certain point in which too much of the same stuff rehashed gets boring, so only a few novels are followed (speaking about the ceo romances). That’s how I see why this whole top 20 ‘unevenness’ occurred anyway.
EDIT: I finally understood which one All Genres list you were talking about, and I see what you mean. That’s odd that Webnovel shows those 10-20 novels in that order. Their algorithm is in fact skewed to the FLs ones. But technically this list isn’t ranked. On the Powerstone ranking for All, there’s an even 10 to 10 ratio in the top 20. So if it’s even there, that’s all I care about because that comes right from the readers preference rather than Webnovels weird search results.
