Really they just had to get rid of it I swear these people so hungry for profits

Sapakera lol they won't answer.. dont u see like 700+ comments on the forum against taking away elite subscription?. And they unstuck the topic instead of replying.... they got a taste of people paying more than 50$ on spirit stones so why would they bring back subscriptions which costs 25$.. it's a corporation they only think about profits and not about their user base..

I think being deserted isn't the worst fate. Taking into consideration changes from last year or so I'm really afraid what systems will they implement in the future. Paying for logging into app or maybe tax for refreshing library to check if there are updates?

Sapakera Most authors lost revenue because of that. They started earning 50% less. Obviously, it didn't work and the authors didn't want that. I also lost a lot of money when it was implemented.

See this opinion i get. Its valid. But, its also a balance game when it comes to growth. The amount of people willing to spend 50$ a month on stones is limited. Espesially since those 50$ honestly is already overpriced and only gets you so far. I got loads of novels i enjoy that are just standing in my library unread because the cost of reading is insane.

The prices taken pr word on this site is massive. I get one loses money with the change to subscription because then people can on average just read, for instance my huge backlog. That instead now of getting stones i could read freely, The amount of chapters i would read each month would jump massivly but the cost i used on the site as a whole goes down. Ofcourse there would be some taking a hit on that, while others would gain.

But that is not the key issue here. The key issue is the matter of growth and how the site is already overpriced. Lightnovels is a fantastic medium, im enjoying the stories and im enjoying the conent. Webnovel is also a great place that collects alot in one place. But it is overpriced. I get 1000x times more content on kindle then here for same value. I get 1000x times more content on netflix or hbo then on here. This is what becomes the key issues.

With webnovels pricing only diehard fans of stories will keep investing into stories. Your killing all growth in the community, or willingness to pick up new novels to read before the one your done with is complete. I spent about 30$ a month here. That gives me 200 ish chapters + free chapters from free stones. So lets say average about 250. My library grows with about 800 a month, so backlog just gets worse and worse.

A subscription model does mean one takes a hit in the start. A big one for the more successfull authors for sure. But it opens up for growth of readers. It opens up for a bigger total pie to share the revenue from given time to growth. So I get it I do, but its not a healthy thing for the overall long term survival of the genere here.

Zhevons They're ignoring future risks and wider consequences and instead are only looking at the short term profits. This kind of business practice will not be sustainable in the long run.

I'm pissed because a novel I finished reading that I wanted to reread was reset back to locked chapters even after I've spent well over an estimated 4000 ss while reading it the first time. Add that to the app logging you out and resetting your read chapters for all novels back to locked its completely

Although I genuinely enjoy your novel, prices on WN are at this point to high for me. I'm not 100% sure but I think I found Spirit Cultivation thanks to the freedom of choice that subscription gave me.
It is just like Netflix, you can't expect that the moment you implement that system your earnings will skyrocket, on the other hand given time you could see increase in subscribers and most probably in your income. Not mentioning that current privilege system would make a lot more sense paired with elite.

I agree!! I read so many books that the current price model is unreasonable for me, I wish they could have a bit of both systems so as to attract more people. As it is, I feel that everyone just goes to third-party platforms to read the novels...
