Regardless of this being public space and anyone can jump into a conversation, you skipped past the "without checking the context"
CK clearly stated they were replying to someone and you jumped in without looking at the earlier remarks to grab context... So both of you please, stop fighting eachother and instead turn the animosity back towards webnovel where it is so readily deserved?
For the first time in 2-3 years i think i will quit webnovel... the elite subscriptions was wonderful when they end this i had to go back paying 100-150€ / month (with a 1400€ salary) to follow the novels i love and find new one to read (1000-2500 min of reading time by week ) and now i would have to pay 4000 stone which is 61,5€ to keep having the last 50 chapters ...
no way i'll go back to LNMTL or try wuxia to see if they are more reasonnable. While having to pay 50€ or even 100€ monthly for an all chapters free solutions like the elite subscriptions wouldn't have scare me 
...

I think the idea itself is fine... though it is just milking us more, its still a company and they have to make money so not that surprised. What I am not fine with is that there will be novels doing less mass releases or reducing their current release rates to stockpile more chapters because of this.
Do not bother saying this will not happen. Because it already is happening. I find it quite the coincidence that The Legendary Mechanic suddenly went from 13 chapters a week to 7 a week 1-2 weeks ago. Consider my words empty if they do not jump in on this new system... but the the signs are there that they simply heard of this new model and started harming their normal release rate to stockpile more chapters just so they can jump in on this new system too.
That is kind of were I draw the line. That said I am still a sucker for the novel and will probably end up paying anyway. But that doesn't make me feel less abused.

Yeah I also was wondering regarding mechanic chapters.
The original idea is to prepurchase chapters, but webnovel don’t actually sell you the access to the said chapters. selling a list of chapter titles is not a service, more a scam. Regardless how much their forum employes argue.
Scarlet_Rain It has to do with Millman not being around to edit, along with some translator issues. Will likely make up for it in the future.
To even go on Privilege, we need a lot more than 100 chapters stockpiled.
If I understand this privilege scam correctly, you spend stones for the privilege to see the chapter title not the chapter content. Pity this wasn't clearly stated otherwise I and I'm sure nany others wouldn't have spent so many stone.

On Scarlet_Rain 's thought, i picked up MMORPG: The Almighty Ring a month ago, on friday mornings it has a 12ch mass release (its standard is 2ch/day) and was included in the "privelage", today it showed 62 chapter unread status... 12 dumped. 50 more for "privelage" so perhaps SOME novels that are well stocked with translated works will keep doing mass dumps, others... Probably not, just gotta wait and see

It's not like I don't understand where you are coming from. Although personally I think that this whole privilege system is kind of absurd, on another hand if someone with deep pockets want to sponsor novel I like there is no reason to argue. At least if you explain properly what they get for their money, and WN didn't.
It still royally pisses me off to see these 50 unread chapters in my library. Kind of like that one stupid rich kid in high school who flaunts his money.
But you see, I think the core of the problem is in reality Elite Subscription. WN gave us taste of heaven just to show us middle finger later. They said that it was only beta, will go under revision and WN will give us more info later. Now they ignore us, not even spitting in our direction. Literally no info on a status of an elite. And now they introduce another money sinking project as if nothing happened.
If you were just another reader, wouldn't that set you off even a little?

That would be amazing, if there was a different app where you could pay monthly payments to read as many chapters as you want I would leave webnovel in a heart beat and never look back, webnovel already lost me when I worked out how many ss it would take to finish one novel and how long I would have to wait for free ss or how much money I would have to spend to buy ss to read it, I'm only here because there isnt another app like this one at the moment but as soon as there is I'm jumping ship.

Don't be scared and change to other sites. If webnovel thinks they can scam us than we need to leave. I spent 100€/month until the subscription after that they got nothing from me.
If we use ss here the author and translator get some but we support a company which gives a fuck about the readers who would like to read on legal site.
I was happy after I saw the webnovel system but now I think they take us as dumb shit who spend a fortune for some words.
I am only active at the forum now. 
CKtalon i used to have a huge respect for u n i followed you from different platforms until you decided to leave WW and move to Qidian. Heck, i even decided to give Qidian a chance, amidst WW fans rage, because of u.
But, if u really believe what you have been saying n comparing n even defending Qidian on this, i give up man. I used to believe only Qidian is greedy, which is fine as they are a company after all. But, i still stay n spend money because of authors n translators. But now seeing you and few authors really defending this practice, i started to believe now that it is not only Qidian who is greedy.
As a seasoned translator, read what people said here. Use context not literal reading. majority is not complaining about the system. But, how the system is implemented. Heck, Qidian does not even bother replying them.
It is like selling overpriced n useless insurance policy. There is nothing wrong for a company to try selling the product. Like u said, those who want it can buy it. But the moment, the sales person of that product selling it with misleading info on the product, it became a scam. This is what people are saying thay they have been scammed.
Anyway, ask ur heart man. I still believe u r good person. Stop defending something that isnt right.
This is my last straw. After loosing my elite subs, im hoping that Qidian will genuinely come up with a better system as they claimed. I guess I should know better. Now, even some translators and authors start defending this type of practice. So, thats it for me. Im planning to finish reading your work, TMW here as I have been following you since gravity time. But, I guess you.guys have crossed my bottom line. Maybe I will be back some day and finished it when things change. Until then good byee. It has been fun journey until now.
Angko same. I have decided to jump ship now. I know for a fact the free website and app that contains all the translated chapters in QI for free. I was conflicted in the past to try it out. But, now seeing QI and even some translators and authors are also defending QI, im no longer conflicted. If they dont care about us, what should I care about them.
